1 year, 700K. I mean, ultimately would have preferred a younger guy to get his spot, but honestly don't mind the move. Always loved what Gill brought to teams, even though he might be past his prime now he can certainly be a great #7 or #8 depth defenseman and help the team in the locker room. Guys won a cup and been in the finals twice, certainly has experience.

Fuck yeah!! This makes my day. I was pulling for him since day 1 he came to camp. For him to beat all odds of making the team. I know that this man is focused on one thing... he wants to win the cup. Thanks for the info.

Least it's cheap as hell. That's what I wanted out of any Gill signing.

I guess the Flyers thought it was better to have an over-the-hill vet sitting in the press box rather than a younger developing player.

That is smart to me. Let's hope he doesn't have to play for awhile or at all, because I think as a top six unit, we're as deep as any team in the league defensively. We just lack that a true number one. We do have a lot of top three of fours however.

Hall Gill is a pretty solid defensive D-man. He is freaking huge and cannot be moved very easily and can tie anyone up. Plus he has Chara like range with his stick. He aint Chara but a good stay at home defensemen he certainly is. Good pick up

I hope he doesnt have to play at all that means our core defenseman are not hurt and playing solid hockey.

I think it's a pretty decent deal to get a veteran dman like that for $700k. He's not going to be asked to really carry any load, but his leadership will be a big help.

Exactly. If our injured defensemen from last year stay healthy and round into form this year, it's going to be a good year for the orange and black.
