The truth is, if we rely on a superstar goalie to shine every night in the playoffs to win, then we don't have a good enough team. We just need our guy to let in one less goal each game than their guy, and if we can't defend and score to give him that chance, it doesn't matter who is in net.

I don't think we have that team, and I said it early in this season when we were wiping everyone out. I stand by that and hope that we can at least make it competitive.

And there is no guarantee of this. Forsberg can rip it and Josi has been otherworldly the last 4 months, but the rest of the team is below average (at best) at creating scoring chances. Nashville has been pretty weak against sound defensive teams over the last month or so.

And hey, DeSmith was in goal for a 5-2 victory over the Preds earlier this year.
