Ahh, so THIS is where everyone went to talk the series!

This is an incredibly obscure stat for how rarely it could ever be possible. My guess is we are 1 of 1.

You are correct! First time EVER.

There had only been a few first-timers going up against defending champs in the past, but no one ever beat 'em.

Until now.

I would have guessed we were the 1st to ever have that opportunity; we weren't?

Edit: as in 1st expansion franchise in their 1st playoff series playing the defending Stanley CUP champ?

I found a few instances, like when the Blue Jackets played their first series against the Red Wings...that didn't go over so well.

I think the Ducks had a moment like that, too. I gotta find those pages again.

Blue Jackets, 2009, lost first round to Red Wings.
Capitals, 1983, lost first round to Islanders.

Considering you guys have nothing of importance to hang your hat on I guess you gotta take your wins when you can get them.
What a weird response from a Rockies fan.

When’s the last time the Mariners went to the World Series?

Also congrats on them breaking a 22 year drought by making the playoffs last year, the Rockies have never been good and yet they have 4 appearances in that same timespan.

You’d think the Avs would come out swinging after that hit on Cogliano in game 6. Guy has a broken neck and not even talk of a suspension for Eberle yet they don’t seem to care.

Especially when they gave Makar one which you can say was deserved but not even talk of one here. Avs should be out for blood, instead they’re acting like it’s a regular season game.
can't do that in a game 7.

next regular season game should be a shit-show.

Welcome to the hoop. Basically his reaction was typical of a fan that just watched their team lose. No logic is needed here. Let him have his sour grapes. It's really all they have left now.

I mean Seattle had the Russ before his production fell off and got the only SB win he's ever going to have. That's punishment enough. That, and the pure HAUL Seattle got for dumping him off on them.

Naw we still have a top tier basketball team, shame you can’t say the same.

Also, you better hope you guys actually produce with that haul, be a shame if you had all those top draft picks and still shit the bed.

It’s also funny that the Broncos haven’t been good in 7 years and yet we still have a Super Bowl more recently than your team.

Hot damn, I forgot the got past the wild card round. I’m liking this new trend of getting through first rounds.
