Gase said he would call the plays in order to have hands on contact with Tannehill and all QBs on the team -- and that he wasn't sure he would hire an OC - He has -- But fully expect him to still call the plays and the OC will serve as someone just to assist him in the game planning aspect of things, etc -- much like, well, Philbin did in GB before he got the Fins job.

I like this hire -- it signals that Gase wants the Fins to play with pace but also patience - lots of dissecting the defense at the LOS and making decisions from there -- All things that Tannehill needs to work on but hasn't always been given the chance to do -- He now will get that chance under Gase. A similar pace to how Indy played with Peyton during his better days - not comparing Peyton and Tannehill in anyway - so don't get crazy - just the scheme and ideas behind it.

To add, this does concern me about what kind of balance the offense will have as far as the running game and if it will be the right fit for Lamar Miller -- assuming he stays, which I personally hope he does. Basically, up until this season - the running game in Peyton Manning led offenses has often been neglected in favor of the quick passing game. Again, not saying this will be anything like having him at QB - but the systems these two coaches are familiar with usually lean on that. Its basically spread stuff with some WCO concepts.

Miller said he wants to be on a team where he is the right fit - Gase has said he will soon assess the current roster and decide which guys fit what he wants to do. I think the fit for Miller and a couple of guys currently on the roster is right but I also feel it may not fully do their talents and abilities all the justice they deserve.

One thing to remember is that Gase used Forte to the best of his abilities so I'm sure that if Miller stays he will be better utilized. Must be done for Tanny to be effective hopefully they see this from the tape. Oline must also finally be fixed for everything to work.

This is the only negative I'm seeing here. I absolute LOVE the scheme and think it's one of the best ever. Allowing your QB to control everything and put your team in the best possible play. But that will inflate the QB's ego and make him believe he doesn't have to run the ball when he's having a good game. I really hope it doesn't happen like that. But hey, if our offense looks anything like what the Colts' has over the last 15 years, I'll take it. Definitely an elite offense.

Running has always been part of Tannehill's game - I don't see that changing even in a more passer-friendly scheme. Pretty sure a lot of the QB runs will be implemented in the new scheme.

I won't get crazy and call it an elite offense just yet - we have a lot of holes to address before we can even dream of that
