I realize I fall on the optimistic side of the spectrum of Bronco fortunes, but I think the Broncos have the classic pathway to the Super Bowl Championship and the Lombardi trophy. The Broncos are the kind of team that wins most often - when there is no dominant power around - and sometimes if there is a perceived dominant power around - it happens anyway.

The Broncos are showing the best defensive talent in the entire league - this despite an offense that has given up the ball -and taken an abundant amount of 3 and outs. Defenses win championships - something everyone confesses to know.

As for the offense - the long road to the end of the regular season - is here. Who does the Broncofandom blame for this crappy 11-4 record? The offense - especially the Oline. How about the press - yes them too.
It's the offenses fault.

In my opinion - this should make the offense more motivated - Do you think anyone will remember this season if they happen to jell in the playoffs thru the Super Bowl? The QB question is settled - the Broncos are going with a young guy - who is intellectually, emotionally and physically committed to winning. That should sharpen the focus. The coaches realize that they have to condense this offense down to what works for Brock - and the offense - for they too can become heroes. Then you have the DT factor - he too gets a chance at redemption in the playoffs - no one will remember his drops if he makes big plays consistently in the playoffs. Same for CJ Anderson.

This is how I see the up trends lining up:

1) Great defense - has depth unseen in the NFL for decades and playing at a high level of confidence.
2) An Offense motivated to redeem itself.
3) Players motivated to redeem themselves.
4) QB question settled - better focus on the game plan.
5) Time to condense the offense down to what works best with Brock Osweiler - coaches redeem themselves.
6) Osweiler is a three way player - he leads emotionally, he leads physically and he leads intellectually. He throws an accurate ball with pace.
7) Offense asserts itself - defense plays even better and opposing offenses turn the ball over more often.

Chargers game plan:

Run them off the field 2/3 run plays - challenge the oline to bust some runs. The Broncos can run on this defense - Hillman and CJ are in decent shape. What could be more uplifting than a dominate run game going into the playoffs? More play action to DT and Sanders, but fewer passes.

This team has upward trends that added to the strength of the defense - gives them a great pathway to the title.

I think the Broncos are much better than the current odds of winning the Super Bowl- which are 10-1 odds - now is the time to put some money down -and this is the year to do it.

The win over Cincinnati certainly encourages me that the Broncos just might put together a nice playoff run. Also agree that it makes sense to really try to run the ball against SD tomorrow. Establishing a proficient run game could easily be the difference between winning and losing in the playoffs.

Denver's battle tested. They just need to keep games close in the 4th.
I think they have won 8 games by 7 points of less. Only 6 teams evah have more more.

I remember our 2012 season where we just cruised into the playoffs with 11 straight wins by 7 points or more. We looked unstoppable with a top-5 defense and offense. The big thing to me though was in the playoffs most games are a lot closer and if you are not trained in how to win those type of games then it can definitely lead to a struggle. That is what I love about the group we have right now in they have found ways to win those close games. Both the offense and defense have shown up big when we absolutely needed them to make a play. I agree this team is ready for the playoffs. Keep things close, don't panic, and don't try to force things.

I would throw in we are actually getting healthy at the right time. For the most part over this 2nd half of the season we have been without Ware, Ward, Anderson at times, DT has been banged up, Darian Stewart has been playing hurt. If we are able to win tomorrow and get that much needed bye week I think we might just surprise some people with how strong we come out looking.
