After doing a couple of these, and seeing a few of the one's Nets put together, I think the draft really sets up well for Jerry to fill some needs. I was happy, interested in how yall would grade it, thanks

Aaron Donald DT Pitt
Cyrus Kouandijio OT Alabama
LaMarcus Joyner CB FSU
Daniel McCullers DT Tenn
Marqueston Huff FS Wyoming
Ethan Westbrooks DE West Texas A+M
Cornelius Lucas OT Kansas State
Casey Pachall QB TCU

Love that draft especially Joyner in the 3rd I would rather get Jason Verrett in the 2nd though. I would still like this draft though. Varrett is 5'11" with elite speed. Not big on Pachall but you took him in the 7th round. I can live with that. Huff is a wild card for me, I know nothing about him bit I see him climbing up a lot of boards I'd rather have J. Ward.

I dont think Verrett will be there in the 2nd for us ..... but if he is that would be a steal

Sorry, I want a pass rusher (DE or a smaller version of one) that we can hang our hats on from this draft. There will be a few guys we can hit throughout this draft that are deft and/or fast enough to fill the gaping hole D.Ware left behind.

I would give this draft a B+. I am high on Joyner and huff. I also think Pachall could be a good backup. I see no reason to keep paying our backup qbs this type of money. It would be different if the Cowboys were a player or two away from the superbowl. We can't even win the division right now. Walterfootball has the Cowboys drafting number 5 in the 2015 draft.

2nd - You passed on Jernigan in the 2nd Round????? I would have danced the card up and picked him. Did you not realize he was available (or am I reading hte draft wrong)? Personally I also would have grabbed Ward in the 2nd also before going OL, but that seems more a judgement call.

3rd - are you taken him as a CB or S? I'd have gone Lawrence there. Wouldn't be shocked if Dallas takes Lawrence in the 2nd if Crichton is gone. Actually wouldn't be surprised if he is gone well before our 2nd pick...Also like Sutton as a target of ours

Decent draft though and takes a lot of time to do, so kudos to you. Didn't want to sound like I was tearing it apart, just saying what I would have liked if this really was our draft. Actually...if that really was our draft I would have gone F'in bonkers if they passed on Jernigan in the 2nd!!!

I'd rather have Jernigan instead of Donald but since he took Donald in the 1st it makes sense not to take Jernigan in the 2nd.

Assuming we do take Donald at 16 and the draft plays out the same way I'd have to sprint to the podium to draft Ward in the 2nd.

I know it's easy to second guess, but looking at the draft I'd have taken Ealy 1st, Jernigan 2nd and Joyner in the 3rd as a S.

Not to me it doesn't. We need a few more good DL. Not just one. we all have been talking about how we need to overhaul the DL. Those two would do it.

But we gave other major needs too. We signed DT Melton drafting a DT in the 1st gives us 2 new DT's. A DT or DE in the 1st and DE or DT in the 2nd makes sense. Two DT's with our first 2 picks doesn't make sense.

Like I said it does to me and I'd be shocked if we let Jernigan go by if that was the scenario. We had both Hatcher and Ratliff before last year and still needed help then and they are both gone. So really we only replaced one of them. Plus, I know none of you guys want to hear this, but we just aren't going to stray too far from the BPA methodology unless two guys are pretty close. Drafting for need is like a dog chasing its tail. We have a lot of draft picks, not just the first two rounds. I'd be very surprised if we didn't draft at least 2 DTs and I have no problem if they come in the first two rounds and if their names are Donald and Jernigan I'd love it.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I like Jernigan as much as Donald, but Rod is on record as saying he is a 1T to him. I thought that instead of taking Jernigan in the 2nd as a 1T, I might be able to pick up Justin Ellis or Daniel McCullers later, and I ended up getting McCullers in the 4th. At 6'7'', 350 and athletic, I think he would start day one.
Passing on S Ward in the 2nd was a tough call, but it was the same deal to me. There were two other S's that I loved still on the board as well, Joyner and Huff, and I ended up getting both of them(had to trade back into the 4th to get Huff). I think Huff is a steal. Joyner could play anywhere from outside to slot to S. Kouandijio would be our starting RT for 10 years
Someone had mentioned Ealy as well in the first, I like him, just like Donald more. I do believe I got a steal in Ethan Westbrooks in the 7th. He had crazy sack numbers, and is going to play for Rod. I think he would start in year two

That's why I said it's easy to 2nd guess. We can see the Draft after the fact. Maybe I'd like your Draft if I liked Donald. I haven't changed my mind on him. Back when the Mocks had him in the 2nd many here thought he'd be a slight reach for the us at 47. Now we're ready to use a 16 on him? Count me out.

Slight reach may be the wrong words but there were enough of us who wanted other DT's in the 2nd even with Donald on the board.
