King Felix has a legit argument for MVP. I don't know if he'll get it even if his ERA hangs a hair below 2, but I would have no objections if he did win it.
His past couple of seasons however he's been atrocious to end the season - from 2011-2013, had a 5.07 ERA in Sept, and in 2011 he had a 7.71 ERA and opponents hit .405 off him over his final 3 starts of the season.
For whatever the reason, in recent history he tends to end the season on a bad note.
Felix has not closed the door on the Cy Young yet. It's just not in the bag. Really he's 6 less starts away from being in a dead heat with Chris Sale. It is what it is; Sale went on the DL so he doesn't have the innings to match up well against Felix because their rate stats are similar. I think if Felix limps to the finish line and Sale catches fire it could be a toss up.
