Favorite Sports Analyst?

Just curious who you guys like when it comes down to the opinions at ESPN. A lot of these guys leave me scratching my head, but 2 of the guys i usually agree with are mark Schlereth and Merril Hoge. They seem to be the voices of reason on ESPN right now.

I like Schlereth, Young was one, I enjoy Herms actually, Dilfer was good but a little dull now with some opinions IMO.

I like a few of 'em, but Tom Jackson is the first one that comes to mind...

Schlereth is a little annoying but not too bad, Jackson is good, too. I HATE HERM EDWARDS, I don't know how anyone that has heard him speak gave him a coaching job.

Dilfer is good. Herm sucks so bad I just turn the channel.

I can't even say I've had one since Jaws took the new job. They're mostly pale imitations of one another, seems like guys fall into one camp or the other - one group makes pointlessly edgy comments trying to stir shit up (aka Michael Irvin), and the other is boring guys unwilling to say anything even mildly controversial (eg. Cris Carter).

Tangent, anyone notice how many "analysts" are working the 9am hour on Sunday mornings? Between Fox, CBS, ESPN, NFL Network, and ESPN2 (or wherever the fantasy football show is), there are at least 30 guys employed to talk about these games. ESPN alone works like three different sets, roughly 14 guys spread between them. And like I said, they say almost nothing worthwhile between the lot of em.

Skip Bayless and Stehpen A. Smith debates are good TV. Herm, Mort, Jaws, Dilfer, Young, CC, Parcells now he's on ESPN. I think ESPN brought in Ditka to kill time and ramble on.

Most of them I hate. They always talk crap about the niners and never take them seriously. They would rather talk about some of the field crap or what ever popculture shit is the latest "issue."

ESPN has gone MTV up the ass.

I miss my ESPN of the nineties. When I would wake up before school each day and get the news and highlights. Living on the e3ast coast I never knew what the lakers/giants did that night. 49ers I always knew about from ESPN's sunday night pregame and halftime show.
