What instrument, the second you hear it, hits you right where you need to be hit? Conversely, what instrument grabs you by the marbles and squeezes until you can do nothing but cry “Uncle”?

For me, there is an instrument that stands out clearly in each category…

Favorite - Chelo. It just hits me deep with every note.

Least - Bassoon. This just sounds like a clown-noise maker to me. Any time I hear it, it takes me out of whatever show/song/whatever I am watching/listening to and I can’t take it seriously any further.

I like all musical instruments pretty much.
My favorite is the Drums....and as a drummer/percussionist, I play all types.
Close second fave is Piano/keyboards...which I also play.
Next are the string instruments...I play the bass too.

Least favorite would definitely be the kazoo...hands down.

Love a horn section. Am a sucker for the lap guitar and some steel drums.

Can’t say I dislike any particular instrument. But there was a period of rock that featured way too much keyboard/organ. Absolute overload.

Kazoo…

LOL

I hardly consider that an instrument. I guess that pretty much defines its inclusion on a “least favorite” list

I always laugh at the Journey video where the guy is “air pianoing”.

Favorite: Piano
Least: trombone (but I don’t really dislike any instruments)
I actually studied the Trombone in the 5th grade.

Dont laugh. The drums and sax were already taken, and after that I didn’t really care, so the teacher assigned the trombone to me…

I don't really have one, but any drum solo that last more than about 15 seconds I can definitely do without.

I'm honestly surprised you can pick out a bassoon specifically from anything and have this opinion. I came in here to say bassoon as a joke.

It is basically a Dr. Seuss instrument though, that's true.

It is always played to portray a clown atmosphere. It sounds like a circus.

I don’t know why I hate it so much, but I do.
