Other than the Saturday morning bass and walleye fishing shows here, I'm pretty into Wicked Tuna on NatGeo but still am skeptical that some of it's staged and fake.

You all have a favorite fishing show?

I watched this dipshit with a small pike on the other day. Don't remember the show...some small time network thing. He's talking about giant pike and the thing they televise is about a 6lber. Cripes. Dude's swiping at it with the net multiple times trying to go tail first. Should have lost that little racer the way he was botching it. The absolute worst thing is to watch TV guys hurt a nice gamefish by swishing it back and forth in the water to "revive" it. I see so many people doing this each year and it's folly.

The fly fishing shows are the best at capturing the moments.

It was Spanish Fly. Loved that show. Now, there are a few out there that I like, but the one I guess that stands out is Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries.

I have several shows recorded. Being in the midwest, I like to catch walleye's.

"The Next Bite" has some pretty decent segments.
"Outdoors in the Heartland" smallies & walleyes
"Lindners Angling Edge" Rattlebaits for summer Walleye

Babe Winkelman on Lake McConaughy - May 2014

Al Lindner – Rip Rappin’ Walleye’s – Very interesting technique

Jason Mitchell – Slip bobber for Walleye

I like those shows also. The World Fishing Network is free this month on Cox and other carriers. I am getting to watch many good shows. One show had an end segment explaining the high cost of producing a fishing show at sea. One shot showed the gas pump while filling up the boat and it was up at $2,200.00 + and climbing. Now that is some big bucks just for gas (my boat doesn't cost more than $60 to fill although I wouldn't take my boat out to sea). There are many beautiful locations on the fly fishing shows.

I'm getting sick of how most fishing shows on Saturday or Sunday morning are not even about fishing techniques or catching fish, but more about promoting some lake, or resort or cabins or boat etc....it's one big marketing show and not about actual fishing.
