Nope. It's just homemade vanilla pudding, cut up bananas and vanilla wafers with homemade meringue on top. Throw it in the over on 375 or so until the meringue browns up a little.

we just used a lot of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
it was like a crust without the hassle

the secret is to use vanilla pudding
never use banana flavored pudding, ever

I've always liked date bar, but find it hard to locate the ingredients to build it nowadays. Used to work at Bread & Company in the Nashville area & they had a killer chocolate ganashe with butter cream icing. Also a very fine tiramisu. When it comes to ice cream, I like Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz from Ben & Jerry's - but I don't know of a location anywhere near where I live now.
