Scott Lucas had this to say about Ragans outing Thursday.

Cole Ragans lacked control but not velocity, averaging 96.1 and topping at 98.1 with his fastball, and every cutter exceeded 90. I waver on what I prefer as his role. His entire repertoire is useful, so in that regard I think starter, especially if he can regain the control displayed in Round Rock last summer. He very well could be better off in a long relief role or shoving for an inning, but I guess I'm not ready to foreclose the idea of starting quite yet.

Please no on the long relief role. Let him be what he was beginning to be successful at and that was as a starter. We already screwed him up enough this year.

It was weird because no one came over for quite awhile, while he sat there on the ground. It was several minutes before anyone even came out of the Angels dugout to even check on him and not one teammate ever walked over to check on him. I am used to seeing players coaches and trainers come rushing over but this was odd

Seems like he has been pressed into either role at the MLB level and he needs to be down until he gets back on track with some real proven results......None of the few innings Spencer Howard mess.'

I hope CY has learned from this big mistake and will not make it a habit the way JD did.
