Trying to re-create the fearsome foursome are they on their D-line, eh? I like it. One of my favorite units to watch in the NFL right now.

I don't see another Fairley thread, so hopefully no Badmin.

Hmmmm. Him I liked. What is up with the Rams and DL??? Let's all start looking at who they are going to cut, because whomever it is can help a lot of teams

Deepening on the size and length of the deal I wonder if this means they are giving up on Brockers and will be looking to ship him off.

They still are bigger names than they are a finished product. They were just an average unit last year. And the team still hasn't done anything to improve that offense.

Rams going to hurt more QBs next year.

1 year/$5 million+ tho? That means Brockers and Fairly will FA's next year.

Regardless our front 7 are going to eat people. And I like it

Average the first 4-5 weeks and Chris Long was out.. After that you must have missed us beating Seattle and Denver (they scored 7 points) with Shaun Hill. Not 1 TD allowed for 3 weeks: 13,14,15. These cats punished people on D and are VERY Young. We just need an offense that move the chains now.

Rams with Foles are going to be interesting. Beef up the O-line and they might really have something. Niners might be in the basement, next year.

The issue with the Rams has never been the front 7. It's the secondary and offense (mainly the QB). Whether those areas improve will dictate whether or not the win total improves

Not allowing a TD in a 3 weeks span against the juggernauts that are Oakland, Washington and Arizona (who was on their 3rd QB in 2 weeks that game) really isn't the accomplishment that you think it is. Especially when the very next game after that streak, they got lit up by Eli Manning with a patchwork OL.

They have a ton of potential. That is for sure. But let's see in on the football field before we anoint them a great D. They flat out were not very good last year for most of the season despite playing a really good schedule in terms of not playing very good offenses. They let up 30+ points in 7 of their 16 games (and some of those were against some really bad offenses).

I don't know, it's hard to prevent any NFL offense from scoring two TD's these days, let alone allowing one. Even the worst offenses in the NFL average at least 15 or so every year these days. It's not an overwhelming and shocking accomplishment, but it's worthy of acknowledging, imo.

Sorry Ducky, Playing 12 quarters in the NFL and not allowing 1 TD, NOT even a junk TD in prevent is pretty dam solid. The next game against the Giants (who weren't great either) was ALL Odell getting behind our secondary.

And no one was anointing them a great D yet. Just said their front 7 was going to hurt people and they were better than average after the first few weeks.

Better than average to Great? Nah not yet

Its a good signing. Langford is probably better off as a 3-4 DE and Fairley should be good depth and depth on defense is something thats super important when PFF says that the Rams dont have a single above average player on offense.

Odds are, if Fairley has a good year then he is getting paid next year by a different team so this is probably a rental. Brockers fits the team more.

Really the only problem with the Rams defense is they have a bunch of #2 and #3 CBs and no shutdown guy. Shutdown CBs are just about the rarest thing in football, though.
