**** YOU NHL Hockey. Seriously. I mean it this time. Don't come back with that lame "Thank You Fans" on the ice like last time. Just put a giant middle finger at center ice this time, would be more believable.

Lets Go Charlotte Checkers. Go AHL.

an open letter to Gary Betteman, Bill Daly and Donald Fehr:

Dear Dickfaces,

My son is an avid hockey fan. He idolizes Eric Staal.
He has been looking forward to this season for months, as he turns 5 in November, and is now old enough to really understand and enjoy the game at a different level.
We have season tickets, and he is very well aware of that. He cannot wait to start going to games, playing hockey in the living room pretty much nightly.
He is especially excited because he outgrew his 4T jersey, and we promised him a real jersey, with a player name on it, to be acquired during game one in October. #12 is a pretty good bet.

Please write for me, in language, terminology and descriptions that a soon-to-be 5 year old can easily understand, an explanation in a way I can explain to him, why there is a pretty good chance he will not be attending NHL games this year.

Sincerely,
Pissed off hockey Dad and season ticket holder

C'mon, Biz. Let's keep it civil!! A formal letter should start out "Dear Mr. Dickfaces" if you expect it to be taken seriously. ;)

I have no definitive proof that they are in fact men, so went with the safest route for the plural.

I structured my letter differently. Too much?

"To the Bruins management,

After the last lockout I didn't care about the NHL for 3 years, but I relented and came back to watch the sport I love the most. The league made record profits these past 7 years yet once again the owners have locked the players out again for the upcoming season. I just want to say to Mr. Bettman and the league owners, including Jeremy Jacobs, YOU CAN KISS MY ASS!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY A TICKET TO A BRUINS GAME FOR AGAIN!!!!! YOU'VE LOST THIS FAN OF 45 YEARS FOREVER!!!!!"

I can't turn away from the NHL. It's truly the only sport I enjoy these days. I have no idea how I fell out of hockey after the Whalers left town for so long. It was a good 8 yrs or so that I just paid hockey no mind.

Message from the NHL - NHL.com - News

Despite the expiration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the National Hockey League has been, and remains, committed to negotiating around the clock to reach a new CBA that is fair to the Players and to the 30 NHL teams.

Thanks to the conditions fostered by seven seasons under the previous CBA, competitive balance has created arguably the most meaningful regular season in pro sports; a different team has won the Stanley Cup every year; fans and sponsors have agreed the game is at its best, and the League has generated remarkable growth and momentum. While our last CBA negotiation resulted in a seismic change in the League's economic system, and produced corresponding on-ice benefits, our current negotiation is focused on a fairer and more sustainable division of revenues with the Players -- as well as other necessary adjustments consistent with the objectives of the economic system we developed jointly with the NHL Players' Association seven years ago. Those adjustments are attainable through sensible, focused negotiation -- not through rhetoric.

This is a time of year for all attention to be focused on the ice, not on a meeting room. The League, the Clubs and the Players all have a stake in resolving our bargaining issues appropriately and getting the puck dropped as soon as possible. We owe it to each other, to the game and, most of all, to the fans.

I still feel like both sides will balk at missing out on their cash cow (WC) so we will see hockey by mid-December. Remember Bettman said the NHL owns New Years Day so he can't let another sport come in and take that from him :rolleyes2:. At least the front end we miss has playoff baseball and football.

I will miss it very much as it is the only sport I really care about. That said FUCK You is deserved to the owners and management of the NHL.

Once they figure it out I will admit the first night of Bruins hockey I will have a 6 pack and food ready to go.
