He might not have to register anymore, but given how high profile his case was, it's still a scarlet letter he'll have to wear the rest of his life.

Maybe you're right. I don't recall a situation like this for an NFL prospect though. But I could see it happening. An NFL team is better equipped to handle it.

Cowboys didn't cut Spillman a couple years ago. And he was a scrub.

I don't necessarily disagree with you here, but I'm just curious as to exactly why you think that?

More players per team, larger fanbases to draw from, and more of a history of players having serious charges against them.
