Lions acquired DE Everson Griffen from the Cowboys in exchange for a conditional 2021 sixth-round pick.

The move comes one day after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Griffen was on the block. Because of COVID-19 protocols, Griffen cannot make his Lions debut until Week 9. Griffen was an August bargain for the Cowboys on the free agent market, but they are packing in their season following the loss of Dak Prescott. Ex-Viking Griffen has three sacks on 282 snaps this season. He will help goose the pass rush for a defense that has only eight quarterback takedowns across six games. For once, coach Matt Patricia is acquiring defensive talent instead of trading it away. 32-year-old Griffen will be a free agent again in the offseason.

Griffin doesn't even fit our system imo. I suspect Julian Okwara is finished for the year and who knows what's up with Austin Bryant.

Winners of two in a row? Huh? Detroit hardly ever wins anything... wtf are they talking about?

Edit... oh, they actually won a couple games. Well whatever.

It makes sense for the Cowboys to cut salary for players who won't be with the team next year. I don't see why the Lions would increase their salary. They're currently #10 in the potential NFC playoff seeding.
