That's part of the deal in keeper leagues. Teams at the bottom owe it to themselves to build for the future, and if a team at the top feels they can afford to deal a little of the future to win now, that's the way it should be. In a redraft this is unethical, in a keeper/dynasty it's sound strategy

Exactly as Treff states

I would do it even if it's just Megatron for Watkins. Detroit is not good offensively anymore. Stafford just is not a good quarterback no matter how much we want him to be.

AnD I'm with Bandit also. I would take Watkins in 6 or 7 any day for Calvin in 1. And u may get more don't blow deal with too much hardball. It appears that you will get more but I'm good with that. Just one question what does Watkins cost in 2 years. Maybe take deal but use Watkins to get Benjamin. And oh Ya nothing wrong with TY either

If you think watkins is a top 36 pick for 2015 then sure, but i think you can get more... WRs have been so deep, I dont see a big enough advantage in keeping both Hilton and Watkins, even if you still will have your top 4 picks already... Remember you are only keeping 2 players, why do you want keeper depth??

I would be looking for more and better for Calvin, but thats just me...

Guys, you are missing the point here.

Watkins for Mega is an awesome deal for you straight up. I am guessing that people who are saying no to this have not played in many keeper leagues. Calvin as a first round keeper has 0 keeper value. His only value to anyone right now is his CURRENT production upgrade over Watkins. SP gets a 3rd/4th round WR in the 7th round next year. That will help him.

I get that you guys want him to extract max price here, but you all are making 2 big mistakes. First, you are overestimating Calvin's value, which is limited to 2 more games for SP. Second, you are grossly underestimating the keeper value for Sammy Watkins as a future 7th round pick. That is awesome, especially if you can keep him for more than 1 year.

I make the deal as is and don't look back. Too much haggling and your guy will move on.

Hilton is not a player I would draft in the top 24 players. They might be value in the round you are keeping them in. But they are not value as a keeper. Same goes for Watkins wouldn't draft Watkins in the first two rounds. At least we know Gordon can put up #1 WR numbers in the NFL. Does he stay clean from this point forward is anyone's guess.

Tlance, i get the keeper league.... Its just that he only keeps 2 players... How good of a keeper is watkins?? hell, he isnt even a top 15 WR this season, and to think things will change with a shitty QB and offensive scheme in the near future... Its all about keeper value, what is the point of getting Low end keepers with your best trade bait?? Even watkins in the 7th round, it is good value, but it is not great... and if he is trading for Hilton too, that is 2 low end keepers at WR, and since he can only keep 2 he is done...

in 2 keeper keeper leagues you have to be smarter with your keepers... and who to keep... Maybe it is just me, but i dont like to keep players if i would not draft them in the first 3 rounds in a REDRAFT league if only 2 keepers... I dont keep for my bench and i dont keep for depth!!!

With ya on this. I wonder if Joshie was coddled at the car dealership or actually got a taste of working in the real world? I doubt it, but I hope it was the latter.

Watkins or Gordon tlance

What round would Gordon be?

It is not so much about which player is better, but more about who makes the better value. I would take whichever player is the later pick. Their situations are both very similar.

Remember that Cleveland threw more than any team in the NFL last year. This season, they are running as much as anyone. Gordon's is unlikely to produce elite WR numbers in the current system.
