Personally, I think these are some of the worst power rankings I have ever seen.

They must value preseason expectations, or future projections more than they value actual performance on the field.

I know teams like the Braves and Pirates aren't expected to stay where they are, but you're rankings teams based on what actually has happened.

For the Braves, they have a better record than 7 teams ranked ahead of them, and the same record as two other teams, one of which they're 6-3 on the season against.

I mean, the Nationals and Dodgers have losing records, and the Indians are barely over .500, and you can probably thank the worst division in baseball for that.

And as for the Cardinals, they're 7-0 against the Reds. They're 8-12 against everyone else and just got swept by the Pirates, who are leading the division, and are ranked 17th.

Not my fault I have to try and force some discussion around here.

Hell, they only do daily threads every now and then these days.

I agree.

Not only are the Indians barely over .500, they've allowed more runs than they've scored.

The Diamondbacks are the only NL team with a better run differential than the Braves.

Don't worry though. It's a long season. Plenty of time for the Indians to excel and the Braves to shit their pants.

Too bad none of the Mariners fans on here had the balls for my avi bet, or you all could have dressed me up silly twice.

I'm sorry, Mr. Nasty. In case you haven't heard, they've got that Chinese Babe Ruth on their team. They should be ranked #1a and #1b.

I really like our offense. I love our aggression on the base paths. Albies, Acuna, Inciarte and even Dansby Swanson have been straight up exciting to watch this season. Hopefully Acuna will provide some real protection for Freeman here shortly, and Markakis can slap his singles from the 5th spot, or even the 2 spot.

I think our offense will produce all season. I really like this lineup, especially when Camargo starts at third base and now that Flowers is back. I hope Jose Bautista flames out in AAA and he doesn't come up here and fuck with the team chemistry and be a downgrade defensively and with the bat.

Pitching will be our downfall. I'd be fine with the rotation doing exactly what they've done. Not blowing anyone away, but keeping the team in games, but this bullpen needs a complete overhaul. Dan Winkler and Shane Carle are the only arms I have any confidence in.

I would put the Cubs over my Pirates too, just because of so much talent.

But the Cards and Brewers arent talent laden powerhouse getting ready to wake up like the Cubs/Nationals/Dodgers. We can compete with either of them imho. Assuming the Cubs wake up and walk away from the central, the 2-4 slots will come down to injuries.

You'll forgive fans of the franchise with the longest postseason drought from thinking they'd be better than the #1 seed in last year's playoff picture.

Luckily though, we have this year's ass whooping in our house and yours to fall back on. Too bad for Seattle we don't play again this year. We could use all the series wins we can get.
