ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the 49ers would go "hard" after Kirk Cousins if he is available.
Even if the Redskins hit Cousins with another franchise tag, Schefter reports the 49ers may be willing to part with a trade package that includes the No. 2 overall pick to land the quarterback. With former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan almost certain to take over as head coach, Cousins would likely be open to a move to San Francisco. Country, my good man some of us are wayyyyy ahead of this story. Against a tremendous backlash we dared to consider the very real possibility. Read some of these posts here and elsewhere and you'll find that it's already a hot issue, filled with varying scenario's including the ones talked about in your thread. Thanks for posting it anyway.

The big thing here is.. If he is available. Leading on to think one of two things.

1. They will try to deal for Kirk. But going hard in this case could mean anything from we will give up what ever it takes, to we will pester the Skins, but we arent going to hamstring the team in the future to get the QB now.

2. If the Redskins let Cousins test the market, we will make it a situation where we are the highest bidder to Kirk, but again might not be willing to mortgage the future draft, to get the QB of now.
