redskins draft board published 1) fowler 2) cooper 3) scherff

that is what was published and by my count the first 2 were off the board leaving scherff at number 3 as the BPA on the board

now if you want to cling to he drafted for need then fine but again you guys swore up and down that he would draft the BPA and i was a fool for believing otherwise

so play any way you want too

Nope, I always contended that need had to be a part of the equation. How much is debatable, but need is always a factor.

I think it's safe to say every position on this team was a need, even WR when you look at the contracts and lack of depth behind the big 2. So every pick could be considered a need pick but none more than a RT. With dad's love for building the OL I'm just surprised that he would have been cool with a RB picked over Scherff had they had them ranked differently.

Next? Doesn't sound too bad. :)

No big deal and I'm sure not losing sleep. But ending a post with Next is dismissive and antagonistic. I know, I use occasionally and it's without a doubt done to discredit and dismiss other posters. As I said no big deal but there's a clear pattern with dad's posts these days. It's spring, be happy.

not what you said . you said no way would we draft an OG at 5 no way . it would be history if it happens and you better be right and no OGs drafted in 1856 counted . shark and skinsdad are stubborn fools who dont know anything but pundits rule because their computers are bigger stronger and faster then ours and we have know idea how to coach a football position because we are a couple of schlep rocks who cant read a lick and have never ever coached anything , even though i have and couldnt break down a film of our dad's taking out the trash

we said he WAS the BPA and the skins board backed up what we said all along / we said he was a pro RT and lo and behold SM agreed with us

when his draft position began rising to 6 the rebukes were deafening and now when we pick him at 5 well their board is a lie and we picked for need because no way could scotty see things just the way shark and i did

but let me go further , i said that all gms say "they draft the BPA " and said that the pundits and people on this board swallowed up like mindless sheep . i said i never heard a Gm say "i will reach for a need '" so if it was for need and the skins draft board was perpetrating a fraud then i also brought up alex smith and how he reached for a need

this all fell on deaf ears because people had a preconceived notion as to what would happen and the experts were wrong , the pundits were wrong and now they have been back tracking since the draft trying to "explain " what really happened

what really happened is they followed their board and picked who they thought was the BPA

Wrong. The whole debate between us was not who would be taken but who should be taken at #5. I discussed the issue of foregoing value if we took Scherff at #5, but noted that he could be taken there and, if so, I would true Scot if that were the case. I also mentioned that if he did, the fact that he would forego value may be worth it. Hence, the article I linked to you above. It echoes the prevailing sentiment that Scot drafted the BPA that fits a need, which dovetailed with my view that Scot must've thought it was worth it to do so. I trust him in his judgment in that regard.

You really have trouble either understanding what was said, remember what was discussed . . . or both.

You really do. It's not tap dancing, it's called a distinction. That's what people doing mock drafts also always tell you: the mock draft they come up with is their guess as to what will happen, and not what they believe should happen. It's something that discussed every time mock draft season starts up.

It should be clear that I love a good debate too. But Good God this group can't agree on anything, we could spend a week arguing the true color of the sky.

Personally, I just opt out when I'm over a subject myself. It's my 'period' to a discussion....
