thanks D. sounds good. that's how i got started on fantasy baseball. i knew absolutely nothing about it (pretty much still don't, which is why I don't have my own team). but observing has been interesting and actually making the occasional suggestion on a player who's gotten hot has been fun. but if i had to draft and manage my own team, i'd be lost!

Does that make me a total geek? Yes, I was. When I was younger, I watched all the time. Something about it was fascinating. I don't think I watched the last season or so, and I haven't seen the new movie. I don't like the original Star Trek, or the other spinoffs that came from TNG, I just liked TNG

I still think Star Wars is much better than Star Trek, but Rachel's dad worked on TNG so I've been watching lately.

I just happen to have the DVD set of the last season right here. The final Episode of TNG was one of the best episodes I've ever watched for any television series. As for the movies, the only TNG one I thought was any good was First Contact (#8 I think). Other than that the films featuring the TNG cast were just meh.

Oh goody, at least I'm not a geek by myself. I used to watch those with such fascination when I was younger. I loved them.

The story lines, the characters, the advetures, all the different lands and the different people.

No, I don't. I'm not much of a fantasy/sci-fi fan at all, outside of TNG and I guess the LOTR trilogy.

I know, you've tried to get me to read the Harlan Corbin series and I haven't gotten to it yet.

I'm really a fan of mystery romance books. (i'm a girl, afterall....)

I have the LOTR book. I've read through some of it. It's heavy though and hard to read.

I do have some of the Harry Potter books, I think the first 3 or 4.

I think del Torro is directing and Jackson is producing. Andy Serkis is rumored for the role of Gollum, which would be absolutely fantastic. Sir Ian McKellen is rumored for Gandalf, too. Did you ever see Pans Labyrinth? Del Torro has a twisted mind, hopefully it makes for a great adaptation.

I love Harry Potter! So good. Couldn't get into LOTR though...got through the first two, but Tolkien is too verbose for me.

The LOTR story is rivaled by very few. However, like you were saying, it's a little verbose. It reads like a history book. The movies did a fabulous job of extracting the heart of the story, in my opinion.

George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire," may be the best fantasy series ever written, however. HBO is adapting the series, and I can't freakin' wait.

The Harry Potter series is incredible, too. And now Harry Potter Land is opening. HURRAH!
