Erik Gustafsson

I was checking out our cap numbers and started to look up some of our non-roster players and came across Gustafsson. Played 3 years of college and then 5 games with Phantoms. Stats 2-5-7 and -3 in those 5 games. The next Paul Coffey, no, but 7 points in 5 games for the Phantoms is nothing to sneeze at. Anybody know if he can play defense? He did not have a grade on Hockey Futures. We have so much tied into our defense that we made need some cheap call up options during the year. At 5'11" 195 lbs, he is undersized but not by much.

ya i've read good things about the guy.. our prospect pool might be weak, but i think we're doing ok on the back-end (D and goalie).. ericsson and bobrovsky are good goalie prospects and bourdon, bodrov (if he comes over), marshall, and gustafson all project to be NHL d-men
