I was flabbergasted by the call, but over the course of the season this shit evens out. I remember a vancouver goal this season that clearly left the zone and should have been offsides. The Canucks won that game by 1

and what if its game 7 and goes against hte Hawks. will it even out next season?

no these should not come to that. calls like that should have no doubt. that should have been no goal. offsides that dont get called are not currently reviewable. maybe they should be.....

I agree in some ways, hell most ways. However if you watch the NFL the last two minutes when the booth controls all replay challenges it can really drag out and turn an existing time into a slow drawn out affair.

I want the calls and goals to be right, but I dont want the final couple minutes taking an hour either.

this is weaksauce

did it even out for calgary?

get the fucking calls right (including the offsides goal by vancouver) ... there should be no debate after the fact

Sure, they should get the calls right every night. But if anyone is acting like this is whats kkeeping Calgary out of the playoffs is being ignorant, they had a season full of chances.

I didnt say you said that and I didnt mean to insinuate(I dont know how to spell and im too lazy to look it up) it. I wish they would get this shit right too. I was just sick of hearing people act like this is the reason Calgary wasnt gonna make the playoffs. I'm sure they have gotten some breaks this season as well

You never want to put yourself in a position where the on-ice and/or off-ice officials determine the outcome of a game or season. I don't think the right call was made last night, but the Flames put themselves in this position with a terrible November and December as well as not winning big games down the stretch.

That said, I couldn't believe how emphatic O'Halloran was with his call of "goal", I don't think he had a great view of the puck. I have to believe if he calls "no goal" and it goes to review, it's still Blues 2, Hawks 0 and we drop the puck in the Blues zone to the right of Conklin.

i would rather the game take an hour than getting the call wrong in a game 7 that costs some team a series.

This isn't basketball...

One of the reasons I never cared for the sport. When the game should be the most exciting, basketball slows down into a slow timeout - foul fest.

i would rather the game take an hour than getting the call wrong in a game 7 that costs some team a series.

Given the choice of the two I agree with you. I still do not want games to last 20 minutes longer with time spent reviewing a bunch of little things. I want the correct team to win, but I want it to be a fast moving entertaining game as well.

I think the system as it is now is OK but would like to see two changes. Have an off ice official making the replay call. Allow the replay official to make the call, not just need conclusive evidence to overturn the on ice call.
