Eddie Royal

ESPN was reporting that Eddie Royal is being shopped by Denver. I say if the price is right, the 49ers should investigate. He's fast, runs great routes, gets open, has great hands, runs well after the catch, is tough/durable (especially for his size) and hangs onto the ball.

In his rookie year, Mike Shanahan was quoted as saying he was 'uncoverable'. I never did understand why Josh McDaniels minimized his role (maybe because he's ultimately not a great coach or at least not a good judge of personnel).

In any case, I say forget about Brandon Lloyd and focus on Royal (again, if the price is right). I'd even trade Crabtree for Royal and a draft pick(s) if the Niners could swing it.

I'd be interested in him. I don't understand why he dropped off since his rookie year, but he is young and does have potential. I think someone is going to bring it back out of him if they can use him right.
