Well I said it earlier, Boston was getting guys to the front of the net, but the problem was the Bolts were blocking the shots before they ever got to the net and had a chance to be dangerous

The only defenseman other than Chara that seems to be able to shoot the puck is Seidenberg. Kaberle is always looking to pass. Which allows the Lightning to focus on the other defenseman & forwards. I know he had 2 assists tonight, but he's been a BIG disappointment for the Bruins since they acquired him.

I went back and read it. I was expecting more than 2 people based on "all those butthurt people". I don't see it. Did I not read far enough?

Yes, I do wonder why this forum is referred to as the Disney boards, because aside from a couple of isolated incidents (yours included), there isn't much more drama here than anywhere else on SportsHoopla. I believe outsiders are still holding on to the impressions of the early days of our arrival when we were taking extreme cautious measures to weed out any of the uninvited swamp things.

Look, I agree with 13 that Sly's comment wasn't that big of a deal (especially given the context - team just lost, fans were throwing crap, just one post out of 1,000s) and also with Dare that only one person was offended and she got over it.

That said, dropping f-bombs just because you can, calling each other fags, and disrespecting other posters is not the definition of a "passionate" fan to me - it's a sign of insecure, ignorant, and bored posters. And people often act and speak with a lack of civility on the Internet that does not reflect how they would act in real life because they feel protected by a certain degree of anonymity.

I bet you will find few boards where you will find discussion as in depth and interesting as you find on this board and that doesn't happen with a bunch of "casual" fans. Not caring what anyone thinks is no way to operate in a forum where you are trying to exchange ideas and learn from each other. It leads to a whole bunch of verbal masturbation that any halfway intelligent person could do without. Personally, I try to care about what other people think (sometimes I do fail) because I feel I owe them the respect that I would like to receive in turn.

I've personally reported posts before because some of the chatter is garbage and what this board was made to get away from. If that makes me "Disney," so be it. Some posters want to act like you're a pussy because you don't get all hardcore when you talk. The real pussies are the ones who use the Internet to do and say things they would never be brave enough to say face-to-face in real life, certainly wouldn't be appropriate to say without knowing someone real well, and don't add anything to the conversation that rises about the static.

I'm actually pleased that this board is thought of differently than other boards of SportsHoopla. I've spent time lurking on some of the other SportsHoopla boards and it's just not my cup of tea and I have no interest in contributing to the discussion on those boards. But hey, that's just me, people should feel free to post on whatever boards captures their interest.

I just don't agree with this board being labelled as the 'Disney' board however for a couple of reasons:

1. Posters were banned for no reason at all at the swamp - To my knowledge, that has not happened here on this board. The mods have provided quick and detailed information why they took the action they thought was necessary.

2. Hi-jacking of threads to the detriment of other posters - That happened at the swamp quite frequently and is one of the main reasons the majority of posters on this board got fed up with the swamp. That is swiftly dealt with here at SportsHoopla and I for one hope it continues.

This is a great hockey board and we have a great community of posters and in my opinion, an excellent group of moderators. I think we all should feel some kind of responsibility to keep it this way and also look for ways to improve the posting experience.

If you were watching a game between Calgary and Vancouver, and Vancouver won, and the fans starting throwing shit at the Calgary players pelting them in the head (which would never happen because Vacouver has a respectable fanbase), you wouldn't feel that they're fans THERE IN THE GOD DAMN ARENA* were garbage?
