What the fuck is going on? First round 3 of the 4 series went to 7 games. This round, one series at 3-0 and the other just a minute away from a sweep.

Philly still has an opportunity to make it respectable... and last years miracle makes it very ironic that the same opportunity is there the very next season.

Washington getting swept is a stunner, for me. After seeing how the Lightning battled in round one I knew the second round would be interesting with them, but I never imagined a sweep of the Caps. Washington had the look of a winner this season.

It is funny how shit works out in the playoffs. You never know how it will play out:confused2:

Now Wings down 3-0. The only series that isn't 3-0 really should be if not for goaltending.

This second round is certainly one sided.

Rinne has been awesome so far in the series I agree, but you also have to give respect to Preds for their battling and their heart. If this series went the full 7 I really wouldn't be surprised. Is this gonna happen? I don't know.

Why do people say crap like if it weren't for goaltending...? That'd be like saying a team with a very good offense wouldn't be where they are if it weren't for their offense, just makes no sense. The goaltender is part of the team, not just some add on. Doesn't surprise me at all that VAN and NSH are neck and neck after watching Nashville play. Unfortunately I am not able to watch more WC games during the reg season cause they are fucking exciting. That third period and OT period in game 3 was so fucking fast, I was on the edge of my seat. And in all honesty, VAN was gifted that game by a shitty call... But thats hockey, especially in the NHL.

I think the reason people say that is that you can put together a team effort to perfectly execute a particular game plan for a given game/team/matchup and still lose due to a goaltender standing on his head. You can't really make you goaltender standing on his head as a reliable part of your game plan. There is also the fact the the performance or lack thereof of your goaltender has the biggest impact on the outcome of games.

Spoken like a team that plays one goalie in the playoffs. Heh, see if you ever win a series against a team without a #1 goalie like that.

Wait... ah, crap.

Preds dominated game 2. That series should be 2-1 right now.

Caps could easily have won a game or two on their home ice, and Wings could have won yesterday. As it has been playing out, the second round has been very lopsided... and if Vancouver wins tonight, none of the series are close at all.

I don't think I've ever seen such close, but not close, series played. There were no blow outs in the Wash/TB series, one OT game; in the PHI/BOS series there's already had 1 OT (although the other 2 weren't close...); the DET/SJS series has been through 2 OTs and all 1 goal games. The series are tilted, but the scores really close. Just funky.

Agreed. All 4 series just worked out to be as tilted as possible. Washington easily could be 2-2 right now, Philly and Detroit easily could have won at least one. The most lopsided is might be Van-Nsh, but that was the only 2-1 series (not 3-0).
