Side note, had we resigned Rak, we probably would not have drafted Smith, and damn sure wouldnt be on the JR Gallette watch every off season since. Also wouldnt be throwing money at Bates.

God forbid we had actually used ONE of those roster spots and a little of that money on a starting D-lineman.

Could sure use Perry Riley right now.

I agree GK, there will have to be a limit as to what we pay 11&88 but Garçon can do what he's doing right now for the next 4 years easy. Slants, comebacks, sticks. Jackson is getting deep.on everyone. It doesn't look like he's about to fall off a cliff in the next two to three years. Does he look like he can't run anymore to you?

Trent and Brad were never anything for us. Them leaving was not about money.

Lamar wasn't about money...he was a free Lancer.

Rabach was garbage and we called for his head.

All of those guys were also a decade ago.

LOS was having his head called for by people such as yourself. He didn't leave because of money, he left because we didn't want him...I did.

Riley didn't leave because of money...he left because we didn't him.

Ammo didn't leave because of money alone. He left because we thought we had at least an equal with Matt Jones.

And little of what money? The money for RAK would be more costly, even with your imaginary math.

You also don't use a first round pick on a WR, then sign two more 30 year old WRs to large contracts, while they are not even your most productive WR.

Again dude.. we saved the money, and improved exactly ZERO. Mindsets like yours are why you call customer service and get some one named Sandeep that has no clue what he is doing. Sure, the company saved a few dollars, but the product suffered in the long run. We have thrown 3 roster spots at replacing rak, and saved $2 million a year on average... and our defense has not improved.

Funny how that worked out.

If Doctson was healthy.. .you might have a point. But as it stands, he is no more useful than Malcolm Kelly at the moment.

Until he is able to make it through practice without fear of tearing his Achilles, I cant say that its a good idea to place any faith in him. Which is why I think we need to resign both. sure its going to cost us some cap space. But seriously, if we go into the off season and the ONLY things we need to address on the offense is LG, RB and we could consider a center and a RT as bonus material if there.... I could live with that.

Keep the offense we have together and improve on it, concentrate on the real weakness of the team (pick a unit on defense and we could use an upgrade). Now Im not saying blow huge money on Jackson or Garcon. But i think Both could be had at a cap cost of less than $12 million for the pair. To me it would be well worth it.
I agree Shark and would love to keep it all intact on offense (VD also) but man do we have holes on defense the draft can't fix, even next year.

I agree it wont all get fixed in one draft.

BUt you dont create holes to try and fill others.

The offense works. Bring everyone back, draft one Defensive stud in the first, and sign a free agent with the $15-20m we would still have left, and use the next 2-3 years to get the defense where it needs to be..

I seriously think we are a NT, ILB and a safety away from a solid (not great, but solid) defense.

But I really dont see a replacement for Jackson on roster, or Gargon for that matter. So if we let them both walk, we might get a replacement for Garcon, but a Jackson.... unless we draft one in the first... I dont see it happening. Cause we do not have that guy on roster.

Brad won a division for us, then went and won a Superbowl. Lavar was all money. It was about a roster bonus that Dan promised but refused to pay. Him free lancing was the Skins excuse to let him go.

Rabach was real good when he left here. Right or wrong this team would be better with Alf and Riley on it.

Bums all over the roster, but Cousins, Jackson, and Garçon are asking for their market value. Oh, we'll have none of that! You guys gotta go.

You must remember, our resident payroll accountant didnt want to pay Kirk more than $15m a year, now he is likely going to cost us $25m a year......

I still say we are three to four players away from solid on defense.... provided we keep the offense together for the most part.

Just gotta get this defense to 14th or 15th in the league. Not 30 something, and we are ready to roll.

RAK was garbage over his last 3 seasons here.

Brad won the division but not because of him. He won a SB just like Dilfer...all defense.

Rabach left here and started one season in Baltimore.

As I have said...make both a fair offer. If they leave, let them go.

Me? I was willing to give 19-20 a season.

And replace them with WHO exactly?? You dont want a fair offer, you want a below market deal and if not, well then we can just throw shit against the wall and see what sticks.

Far from below market value. Just because an idiot is desperate doesn't make that market value.

I love debating with you GK because you know your football, your passionate, and you love our Skins, but I will not be moved from the stance of keeping Jax and Garçon as a top priority this off-season. We are top 3 in offense and I'd rather focus on fixing what's not woking than tinkering with what is. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. HTTR

I already stated most of those guys are on rookie contracts because I knew that is where people would jump.

I have him signing for 8-10 million per season which is twice those journeymen.

I have him less than Foles because Foles does have that one good season...something Cousins does not yet have. What makes KC better? Statistically he isn't. He has a weaker arm and can be less accurate.

I like KC. I think he has a future if he stays here. I think you guys are overvaluing him...at this point.

Can I call Bull shit now??

We don't really disagree though. I want both back. I am just not willing to destroy the cap for it. I am all for making fake contracts and giving more guaranteed money. The crux for me is 8 mil for DJ and 6 for PG. I prefer guaranteeing salaries more than giving signing bonuses.
