Here is a sample of true rock songs that could bring back good memories in Super Bowl half-time show. And get the players excited. Yawn at the soft stuff they’ve been dishing out. Classic rock and roll is the way to go, not the pop, hip-hop stuff, yeah. Sorry Millenials, nothing new under the sun. All 70s song are the best and a fountain of inspiration for the new stuff. Here are some examples of the good old stuff:

1) Led Zeppelin – Whole Lotta Love (intro speaks for itself)

2) Deep Purple – Highway Star (great band)

3) Nazareth – Hair of the Dog (need more cowbell baby)

4) Traffic – Dear Mr. Fantasy (makes you think twice about rock)

5) Black Sabbath / Paranoid (really now, who’s worried)

6) Ted Nugent – Stanglehold (LOL, this is old ESPN joke)

I’m sure there are 80s bands that picked up the slack, but then … what happened? Music has become so bad. These days I listen to classical music, so fed up with the new stuff. It all sounds the same.

1. You got old
2. They got old
3. Many consumers started stealing music
4. Why try harder? (most forms of media have gotten pretty formulaic)

I find that there is good music every other year these days but not at the same frequency or popularity of anything pre-1995.

Hip hop and screechy girly shit.

Why I just read the other day where Taylor Swift is one of the greatest song writers ever!

Jack White and any one of his bands he cares to perform with.

I might even watch halftime then.

Sounds like a guy who knows his tunes.

Meh. I'm not huge on music. I like it. I don't think much about it beyond that though. I will say, I think Lauren Daigle has the best voice in music today.

I still like music. Robert Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters on June 29, Jack White Aug 12. Looking forward to both.

And I don't care how well somebody sings so much as what they are singing.

And they can keep the cavorting about onstage.

All the dancing bothers me more than the shit songs as a rule.

That's okay. Not only does Lauren Daigle have a beautiful voice, the songs she sings are uplifting, as well.

That's all most mainstream artists sing about these days and you think it's garbage. Make up your mind, Kingsley.

No.

Hip hop.

Screechy girl singers.

Define mainstream R&R? It doesn't exist much any more.

My mind is made up.

Luke Bryan is from Georgia and has performed with Jason Derulo. I bet he at least gets a guest spot in there and he can hit the high notes.
