True, they will no doubt have it on PS3 & XBOX360 as well. Still tho, you could always skip the intro so you don't have to see Marty when the game starts.

BTW, some other features in NHL 14 which I haven't mentioned include,

Live the life: a lot like NBA2K's version of MyLife, where you don't just play the game but make off the ice decisions such as press conferences, go out with teammates and have fans ask you for autographs, etc.

Hot/Cold streaks: if players are on a hot streak in real life their ratings will get a boost in the game; if they are on a cold streak in real life their ratings will get downgraded.

Like the ambition & innovation they're putting into this game, hope it plays well as it sounds.

In typical EA fashion, if some scrub gets a hat trick the 1st game of the season then there's no doubt he'll be on a hot streak for a month before they update the ratings again.

Demo comes out on August 20th. Will be interesting to try out some of these new features, particularly the new dekings system, new hitting engine, & new fighting engine.

NP man, I've been a fan of this series for about 21 years now, was sort of disappointed with NHL 13, but NHL 14 seems to have fixed a lot of the bugs & added some features to up the gameplay, like what I'm reading & seeing so far, can't wait to try it out.

Update:

line brawls to be added in NHL 14. Gonna be cool to see 6 on 6 fights on the ice. Player ratings to be announced tomorrow, I'll keep everyone posted.

Have any of you played the demo yet? This game looks pretty tight. I wasn't a fan of NHL 13 (maybe because it had Giroux on the cover) but I'm really liking NHL 14 (even tho Marty brings back some bad memories as well).

New deke moves are fun to mess with, a lot easier to do deke combos (e.g., spin + windmill move + toe drag). I think this will make for some fun games.

Hitting is a lot more effective than in previous games, you could really land some bone crushers and if you hit a superstar too hard then there's a good chance you're gonna have to throw down with a goon.

Fighting is super awesome, best fighting scheme in the history of hockey. 3rd person perspective, you could punch, dodge, block, pull, tug, or even go for take downs. Even better is that if you have multi player games, you could have an all out line brawl.

Player ratings change on a weekly basis based on who is on a hot streak or cold streak. Sort of nice to have the game connect you with the ongoings of the NHL as it happens. Makes things more interactive.

I never get EA Season Ticket because $25 for 3.5 days seems like a ripoff, but I think I'll get it this year. It'll be over the weekend also, so I'll get me a case, some kush, and live it up!

Yup, Martin St. Louis being left off is a disgrace. Also messed up how they left off Anti Niemi. Those are my 2 biggest problems with the list. Would for sure put St. Louis on the list over the likes of Max Pacioretty (among others), would for sure put Niemi on the list over Carey Price (among others). It's like EA didn't even pay attention to the NHL last season.

Jimmy Howard is another goalie I would put over Carey Price. Howard gets overlooked a lot. Him & Niemi put up some crazy numbers last season. Thought they had good arguments for being the top 2 goalies in the league. Really crazy good numbers. Was very impressed by both, even more so than I was with Bobrovsky & Lundqvist.

Played my first game, was the Blue Jackets and went up against the Rangers. Scored 5 goals on The King of New York. Was up 5-2 in the closing minute when Dan Girardi got all in Gaborik's face, so I responded with a face wash to back Girardi off. Next thing I know, I beating down Girardi with Nathan Horton, who just randomly jumped in. Good game so far.
