All this talk about him having a bad camp. Possible practice squad move.
Then the game starts and you see what he brings. Combines speed, vision, decisive moves.
He might have passed Thompson tonight. Might have. We are still very early on.

With Silas having a decent game, it does not look like Evan Royster will make the squad. To no one's surprise.

It all depends on how well he can pass block and catch the ball. We didn't see him really do either last night. Redd looked really good also. This is another tough decision. We have too much talent at this position (if thats possible). A good, young RB is going to get cut from this team. Oh, and so is Royster....

so we have like 4 change of pace backs lol. i think lache makes the team. redd to ps and called up when someone gets injured. thompson gets the short end of the stick, he is the most injury prone btw.

Lache was impressive. His performance was the very reason why I have been a fan of him, since his last season at Baylor. He came right out the gate for a 19-yard run. He was cutting, shifting, and then turned on the jets. Then, he had a couple of 20-yard runs. If this is a foreshadow of what's to come, we're in business. He adds something that we haven't had in years, which is a quick, shifty, HR back. The roster is loaded with backs. Silas Redd played good, too. Royster was ok, too. I believe when the smoke clears, Thompson and Royster will be the odd men out. I believe either Seastrunk or Redd will go to the practice squad.

Itsjust to bad skins will not keep seastrunk if he is put on pc some team would pick him up .to keep seasstrunk in dc you would have to cut cris thompson. Evan royester redd to pc etc etc thats why I been saying replace seasstrunk with niles paul spot then you have . Morris helu seastrunk redd fb young at te you have reed and paulson 'bolser on pc and add another te put on pc simple math . So'whos'for'cutting paul from 53 for seassrunk.

The guy that will make the team will be the one who can block.

Agreed. But remember which one of the guys was drafted by the shanny staff and which one by the Gruden staff. Seastrunk as a leg up already IMO

Pass catching is gonna be an issue too. So far Lache has shown himself to need improvement here before legitimately challenging for say, Helu's proven track record in that role.

The other thing is you have to keep in mind that Lache and Redd both were working against 'lesser' opponents on the field. If they show the same against 'A' players....well then.

That's what will be interesting to see as the rest of preseason plays out.

Redd has displayed power running with nice vision (thunder). And Lache has shown speed and elusiveness (Lightning)

I like it...

This will go down to the wire. Thompson had some nice plays. He can catch. Who stays healthy might be the deciding factor

I didn't compare any backs other than to say the best blocker will win the job.

Just my opinion but I believe Helu will be the third down back.

I know Seastruck broke a couple of runs but he was not running the plays as designed. He did not press the line/hole as designed in a zone run scheme. Not sure he would have fared as well against a first team defense. He is fast though.

I watched Redd when he was at Penn State. He is more like Royster. The other two guys are smaller and faster. I think Redd would be the every down RB while the other two might break off a run on occasion but also could get tossed for a 5 yard loss more frequently.

My guess is that Gruden doesn't require a burner for his third down back but he does want someone he can count on to run routes properly, block when needed and be relied on to catch the ball. I think the competition is wide open.
