Noggin has his tendencies (continually trying to play Weaver-ball, for example), but his handling of the personalities, his in-game management (with a couple odd exceptions this season), and his concentration on the 11/12 over the 90 make him a "never-fire" candidate, in my mind.
I understand SF's comment as a joke/jab. I hope yours was as well, and I just need to take a new cap-size measurement.
Noggin's handling of pitchers is far above what Dusty ever could do, there is no comparison. The offensive approach, as you said, needs some shaking up.
