great find!

DD will stay with the Os only if Angelosi gives him an equal job/pay as being offered by the Jays.

Obviously DD wants a higher position and is a great talent for finding team players whom want to win and not chase huge contracts.

I have a bad feeling he may leave knowing Angelosi

Well he won best GM of the year so of course he'll be a top guy. Maybe the O's will give him a raise to keep him?

1:11pm: Rosenthal tweets Duquette wants to become the Blue Jays’ president/CEO, with the blessing of some within the Baltimore organization, but owner Peter Angelos is standing in the way. Rosenthal adds (on Twitter) the Orioles could demand compensation for Duquette much the same way the Red Sox did when Theo Epstein left for the Cubs. Rosenthal also raises the question of how can Duquette give the Orioles his full and undivided attention when he wants to run the Blue Jays (Twitter link).

Well looks like he's leaving. Maybe we can get some players in return?

Duquette has 4 years left on his contract, so obviously the O's aren't going to let him leave without getting something in return.

I think that this is a believe it when I see it type rumor. Toronto is always interested in everybody, only to be spurned a majority of the time. It's time to focus on the Winter Meetings and to find some corner outfielders, either by trade or FA.

Agreed, but you have to admit it doesn't look good. This couldn't have come out of nowhere...

MONDAY, 12:10am: Beeston will continue to serve as the Jays’ president through the 2015 season, sources tell Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun. Elliott also gets comments (a couple of them tongue-in-cheek) from a number of GMs and executives about the rumors, with some expressing skepticism and others speculating why Beeston could be leaving the job.

So shouldn't have to worry about this for at least another year.

Maybe this is why DD has done NOTHING to date to improve his team.

He's probably sitting next to his telegraph machine and hasn't received the news yet. When he does, Seth Smith will probably already be traded to somewhere else. Then the O's will sign some scrub player and claim how brilliant they are for letting said player fall into their lap.

Several reports have been floating around about Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette and the oft-discussed possibility of him moving to the Blue Jays to become the division rival’s president. The outcome still seems tough to predict, but action is increasing. Here’s the latest:

Kubatko hears that the Orioles are pushing for more substantial compensation as a trade-off for not filing tampering charges against the Blue Jays (Twitter link).
Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun gets the sense that while a deal isn’t close to being completed, it’s certainly gotten closer over the past few days (Twitter link).
ESPN’s Buster Olney reports (via Twitter) that if a deal gets done, the compensation for Baltimore will be “substantial.” Olney hears that one name that has been discussed is right-hander Jeff Hoffman, whom the Blue Jays selected ninth overall in the 2014 draft. Hoffman was at one point in the mix to go first overall or certainly in the top five, but he slipped a bit due to the fact that he had Tommy John surgery shortly before the draft.
Earlier Updates

A deal is “getting close and going to happen,” a source tells ESPN.com’s Jim Bowden (Twitter link), who cautions that the information is not confirmed. Of course, that would appear to conflict with another seemingly unconfirmed report yesterday from Sportsnet.ca radio host Bob McCown (via Ben Nicholson-Smith), which stated that Paul Beeston would stay on for another year as the Jays’ president and CEO.
Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reported yesterday that MLB was running out of patience with the dalliance and was pressuring Baltimore to get something done or close down the possibility. Perhaps looking to increase its own leverage, the Orioles have themselves discussed the possibility of filing tampering charges against Toronto, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com tweets.

Good riddance if he does. Most of the players he inherited from McPhail.
