Better than the season like Wharton.

We will not survive all season without Dunlap, so hopefully he is out the four weeks, gets 100% right and and rehabbed and ready to help contribute to this defense the second he hits the field both physically and mentally.

We'll be fine without Dunlap. The guy barely ever plays as it is. When he does play, he only tries about 10% of the time.

He's the best pure pass rusher on this team. If he's on the field he's a factor. I think the 4 weeks is a conservative estimate. We'll see. At least its not a hamstring where you think somebody is healthy and the second the go 100% they tweak it and have to start the whole process over.

Dunlap is a big loss, regardless of how much he plays. I think he's the best pure pass rusher we have

We'll see. There are a lot of questions in the secondary, and our schedule has quite a few better QBs than last year

Edit: Nice, servo

We definitely need him on the field, but I don't have high hopes.

I've got high hopes for him in 12. I think the guy is an athletic freak which would bode well for him healing quickly. Last year, he tried to come back too quickly and never really got in front of the hamstring issue. It's happened to a lot of athletes and seems to be one of the more frustrating injuries (for athletes and fans). The knee was unfortunate but at least there was no tear. I think he'll be fine.

I used to think the same about Dunlap that he tried to come back too soon the first time around. But then Marvin started complaining about him - even though that doesn't mean much since he loves throwing players under the bus.

But then there's this:

“It’s just a matter of how Carlos’ body comes around," Lewis said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. "He’s been two days of the new, diligent Carlos Dunlap. He’s aiming to be ready, to prove that he’s ready to go. He’s in a race.”

...or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

That's the rub..... Marvin has suggested, several times now, that Dunlap is unwilling to do the things that are necessary to get his body (and keep it) ready to hold up to the rigors of the position. It's fine that he's a physical freak and it's fine that he has blue-chip talent, but until he actually uses his skills he's really not much of a help.

There was a reason a guy with his talent wasn't selected in the first round.

He's got some growing up to do...but so do the majority of NFL players (especially the younger ones). Still, I really dont get Marv's comments. Last year it was a hamstring. I'm no Dr. but I had always heard that the only thing you can do for a hamstring is to rest it and let it heal. That's why it is so frustrating for athletes (that and that they tend to re-tweak them right away). With the knee, I have no idea. I know that he was non weight bearing which to me would suggest that it at least needs a little time to just heal. We'll see...

He's done for the preseason and I bet he doesnt want to play in the preseason anyway. he is 50/50 for Bmore...However Marv may be on some coach's speak bullshit...Dunlap seems to believe he will be ready via twitter (Was on Cincyjungle yesterday)

Him and Geathers will be ready by beginning of the season or week 2 (home opener) We will see Bernard Scott, Dre No Backpedal Kirtpatrick and hopefully we dont cut Moch and unleash him in week 5. We will see....

Let Dunlap heal and get ready I read he was in very good shape and has put in mad work
