Day to Day
My grandson was really into going to Kentucky but he's watched Duke for the past two weeks and now he's thinking that he can make a difference at either WR or QB. He's almost 6'2" 200 and of course football was cancelled at his school this year. They're doing weight work and field practice and might play a couple of practice games between now and Thanksgiving and the conference is trying to put together a spring football mini schedulke for late March and early April. Problem is that we can't depend on the weather. In 1978 we had 30" of snow on April 7.That schedule has been adjusted as well. When other teams postponed games on their schedules the bye weeks were readjusted to include games that needed to be scheduled. This is why Duke will face Virginia in their bye week next Saturday. Hey, it's a fluid situation.
Doesn't matter, he getting A's in all five of his classes and should do equally well in the spring. That and he doesn't lose this year of eligibility so he has four years of football ahead of him. Like I told him, Duke is not a gimme academically and making the Dean's List will go a long way in getting academically accepted in the fall.
