Great, so they got themselves a coach who looks just like their last one.

also, I spelled Boudreau wrong.

you would think a Canadian would be used to dropping extra 'U's into words.

Wait a second, in the span of 2 days Boudreau is fired by the Caps & then hired by the Ducks? This would be the quickest fired & hired deal in the history of the league no?

I gotta say - it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

biggest trouble with firing a coach is "who is out there that's better".
Boudreau's availability answered that question for a few teams.
the only question was whether it was going to be carlysle, sutter or sacco.

Randy signed a three year extension before the season. I'm a bit surprised the Ducks are willing to bite the bullet on his contract. However, when the team wiins 3 games out of their last 19 something has to be done.

This is the start of a plan the Ducks set into motion weeks ago.

Step 1 - Fire Carlyle, Hire Boudreau

Step 2 - ??????

Step 3 - Profit

This seems odd to me. I would have thought BB would weigh his options before taking another job. Anaheim is a disaster right now.

Is Budreau regarded as that good of a coach that he is a must have?

Carysle should be looked at fondly by Ducks fans. They had a good run under his tenure, that of course included a Stanley Cup. Sometimes you just gotta shake things up when you are on a major slump.

Agreed. I didn't think Boudreau would be unemployed by mid-December. Good move by the Ducks. As much as I dislike Boudreau and didn't think he was the correct fit in Washington, he might be exactly what Anaheim needs.

After his stint in Washington, I see him as a great set up guy. Taking a team that wasn't a contender and really steering them in the right direction. That is something Anaheim needs. But can he and will he ever get past the second round of the playoffs is the question. No doubt Anaheim will benefit from this.
