Connor Cook is the only QB that played in a pro system, was a 4 year starter, won over 75% of his games, played in a big conference, graduated from college, 3 to 1 TD to INT ration, only drawback is he completed less than 60% of his passes.

I'd like Cook but if we could trade back and still get him that would be awesome.

Only think I don't know is the wonderlick but he did graduate from college so that is huge and shows reponsiblity for yourself.

Cook will go Rd 1. Either we take him, otherwise trade the pick... unless someone else falls.

All of this right here is why I like him on our team. I do think some of the accuracy boils down to 2 things. They had a very down field style offense which is exactly what he would be running here in Denver. He did not do a ton of the dink and dunk style of offense that some of these guys that rack up ridiculous stats do. The other part that Kubiak will hound on him for is his footwork is atrocious at times. When i saw him stepping into throws his accuracy was very impressive but when he started throwing off his back foot or doing a jump throw he was all over the place. Kubiak is huge into your feet being the most important part of throwing so I think that could get fixed in Denver.

My confusion is - I can see Kubiak fixing 3 or 4 QBs in this draft and turning them into players. In this case - I'd say you have to draft a QB who can do the things your current talent can excel in. With established QBs - you look for talent that fit his strengths. In mind my mind - dat guy is Dak. He sets up the run game and the pass game - and has the arm to hit DT and Sanders downfield.

That's good George - we have now gone two in a row - where we agreed. I'm glad to see you back walking among the men of reason. ;)

I'm guessing you are referring to my neiece's husband - is there such a thing as a nephew-in-law? Jason Vrable, who was just named asst QB coach with Bills.

I agree with you on the vast majority of your takes - sometimes I just HAVE to stir the pot though!

I haven't read all the posts, pros and cons, but this is the best 1-2 combo I've seen. There is a lot of depth at D-line and O-line in this draft. Cook would likely be a very good addition in future years and Henry could contribute in relief of Anderson immediately. The Cook/Henry combo would be the core of this offense for a long time, and I believe Cook could be a year 2 starter in this offense.

I am awful at draft analysis though and honestly think whatever Elway decides is going to set this team up for success for a long time.

I honestly think Cook could come in day 1 and start for us. He has already played from under Center most of his college career so that wouldn't be anything new. He is used to making calls at the LOS if needed and he definitely has plenty of athleticism to handle all of the Kubiak system. Just a matter of him learning the offense. Throw in with adding Henry we would be showing that we are dedicated to running the football so Cook wouldn't have as much put on his plate day 1.

I personally would not be happy. We need D line, lb, and o line. I'm not adverse to throwing one of those picks at a qb and seeing if it sticks, but it better be a guy we REALLY want. I don't want to just take a qb to take him

Elway has shown that he won't draft a guy unless they really like him. I mean he has actually drafted positions that we did not even have an immediate need at because he liked the player so much so I doubt we use a high round draft pick on a QB just because of public pressure.

I have no opinion on Cook - haven't been watching QB's
I think Henry is a reach anywhere in the 2nd. Most of my fellow Pats fans disagree, for what it's worth.....

"Henry is a downhill bulldozer who has an underrated burst to get to the second level and break off long runs. He isn't an elusive back, and is a one-cut downhill runner, but he has shown surprising speed to run away from defensive backs when he breaks off long runs. The key for Henry is not to have to change directions before his third or fourth step. Thus, Henry needs a team with good blocking because he doesn't have the elusiveness to really create by himself. "
