I went yes, but the caviat is that I wouldn't do it until the 7th. Jackson is gonna command nearly $1 million this year, and the team right now only has $5 million in estimated salary cap space. So, if a guy like Keith Price is available in the 7th (if he hadn't gotten hurt and came out this year I would say Chuckie Keaton) then pick him up as the back up.

Depends on what the Seahawks do before the draft.

a If they sign Jackson back than no.
b They sign offense linemen than I'd be ok with a high draft pick for protection of Wilson, because we'd have already covered our #1 concern.
c. No online signed than NO, I want offense line, WR, and D line for our draft class.

Yeah, there isn't a college QB who is a better backup for Russell than Tavaris is. If Tavaris is okay being a backup, and Seattle is okay paying him what he wants, there is no reason to draft a QB. Take a few ringers on O-Linemen and hope one of them turns out.

Also (knock on wood), I think Russell Wilson has only missed one game due to injury in his entire career dating back to middle school. He's pretty durable.

Maybe, but getting some studs on the O line really needs to be the biggest priority. If they do that I will consider the draft a success regardless of what else happens.

I think we have bigger needs unless we want to take a late flier on someone. I think bringing back T Jax will be enough. Also I think BJ Daniels is still on the practice squad. Im not going to pretend I know a lot about Daniels but a year in the system will make him as good as a late round flier I would think.

I have often wondered when Pete and John said before the draft in '12 that they are always looking for QBs, no matter who they have or have signed (referencing Jackson and Flynn), if that was just smoke for other teams or if they are very serious about always looking for QBs.

The problem I have with TJax at the veteran minnimum is that that number is $855,000 for him. When the team has 18 other free agents and a lot of holes coming open, and not much cap space, it's hard to say he's where nearly 20% of our free money should go. I expect cap casualties, but even with those, you still have to look at re-signing other guys (Michael Bennett will cost at least $5 million to re-sign) and paying your draft picks. I have always liked having TJax here and if there wasn't any cap issues, then by all means bring him back.

I guess at the end it comes down to money. TJak as a backup is great, but the cap is going to be so damn hard next year. I really think he's worth a million, but if that keeps the Seahawks from keeping someone more important then adois. Not sure the Seahawks need to draft a backup, there are candidates that they could sign.
