Does anyone know the best draft position- meaning like what percent of the time a certain position wins compared to others or is it fairly even.

thats really a tough question to answer
i have to say it certainly varies year to year

and it would also depend on which skilled owner picks from where

just too many variables...

for this year i like 4 because at 4 you get a top RB and you still have a pick before 3 guys in the 2nd round...

Last year, I liked picking tenth. This year I want to pick first. That way you get the first pick and can choose any elite rb you want, then when it comes time for you to pick again, you still have a chance at ball in espn leagues, and there are still probably some of the elite 6 Wrs left.

I disagree with picking fourth because by the time your 3rd pick rolls around there's a serious drop in the point potential of your picks.

i always like to be around the 7-8-9 of 10 team's

and around the 8-9-10 mark in 12 team leagues

However i doubt anyone keeps stats on it due to th usual high volume of waiver moves and trades

I tend to agree with most of what has already been said, the key is just how good are the other members. If they are all really good, then your chance of a 'steal' are pretty much slim to none. That said, I personally like to be somewhere in the middle (5-7) of a snake draft so as not to get caught behind the 8 ball on a major position run. This year I do not like 1-3 simply because top three guys are pretty much interchangeable - - thus those early picks do not buy you much advantage compared to what you lose out on before it returns - it is a looong wait before it comes back to you. ....
But no matter where you are, if you do your homework and take what the draft offers you (best available), you'll be fine.

As for stats, I've seen different strategies for different positions but don't recall any on which is best.

I would say that any spot where you won't be tempted to draft a QB early is the best spot.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Lol! Agreed! !!

Personally I like the 1st or 2nd pick, or one of the last two.. or the middle. . Any of those usually work out well for me.

In a snake draft of leagues over 10 teams I prefer to be anywhere but the first pick. I've won a few times in the #4 & #5 pick. But in 10-team (or lower) leagues its always a crapshoot.

I've always been somewhere near the top 5 regardless of draft position. I think the first and last time I was skunked out of the playoffs was over 5 years ago.

I like my team man. I thought I nailed that draft, then again 90 percent of people say that imagine.

The best spot to draft is one of the earlier spots, thats why many leagues do a 3rd round reversal in there snake draft.
