Havent read it but I will list the Bucs..

1. Bo Jackson - The guy was pissed off when Culverhouse ruined his Baseball eligibility at Auburn as said he would not play for the Bucs after that. So they Draft Him....
2. Eric Curry - Perfect Bust. Top 5 talent that did nothing.
3. Charles McRae - Another horrible player from the SEC. Was not even a decent back up to a backup tackle.
4. Reidel Anthony - Another shitty SEC player...
5. Rod Jones - He developed a Nickname in the NFL, Toast... At least he was not from the SEC...

God that list was horrible. Just using the Bucs as an example.

McCants had 12 Sack in his first 35 Games, all as a starter. An Injury really ended his career. He would only Start SIX games the rest of his career.

Curry had 12.5 sacks over a 8 year period...

Akili was the biggest of the many Bengal busts. Especially considering that they turned down the entire saints draft (and Akili would've likely been available at the saints pick).

Like everyone else I was shocked that they passed on S.Jackson for Perry...but Perry was electric when he was healthy. He was one of the more exciting Bengals that I can remember...he was just rarely healthy then by the time he got his shot the injuries had taken their toll.

Travis Dorsch was my favorite bengal bust. that was a hilarious pick.

Are you crazy?? We traded down to get Chris Perry and the opportunity to have the great Mathias Askew on our team. Stephen Jackson comes no where close to that kind of star studded talent!!

:rolleyes2:

Passing on Jackson was a bad idea at the time and even worse in hindsight. But the dude got hurt. I don't think you can fault the Bengals for that. Not saying that he would've had nearly the career that Jackson had, but Perry would've been a damn good back. Was very dynamic. Anyone that saw him play when he was healthy knows that. As far as Askew goes, he was what, a 4th round pick? When it comes down to it Perry was clearly the Bengals guy. They made a move to pick up an additional pick and still get their guy. Similar to what they did with taking Zeitler over higher rated DeCastro this year.

Chris Perry was a bum and wasn't EVER going to touch Stephen Jackson, regardless of if he got hurt or not.

I agree to a point. I don't think Perry would have ever touched Jackson, but he wasn't a bum. He was a damn good player when healthy. But hindsight is always 20/20.

nobody is saying that he would've had the career Jackson had. But if you can't recognize what Perry could do on the field when healthy then you can't recognize talent.

The dislocated ankle ruined Perry. He would've been a pretty good back. I remember him taking a dump off from Palmer and turning it into a 70 yard td, unfortunately brought back by a holding penalty. He showed his explosiveness there. The injury robbed him of that talent.
