Game Thread: Dolphins @ Redskins (week 1)

Kai's missed FG was huge. Cullver drop pick 6 was also huge. People are going to point to KC b/c of his two picks but with Jackson out Gruden looks lost in his play calling. The o line played well but what the hell was that in the 2nd half? Its a game we should of won.

i dont think gruden was lost in his play calling penalties killed them . overall i like what KC did but its game 1

I only ask because I have heard reports of supposed Redskins fans hoping the team sucks this year for a multitude of reasons.

Curious that you would entertain that thought. I'm never happy with a loss, but im pretty sure that there are fans of every stripe. Not sure where some get the idea that only "real" fans believe, behave and act as they do. Maybe they should ask the owner if he is a "real" fan, because reading posts here and elsewhere would indicate that he doesn't have a clue.

We had a good running game going and refused to call a play action deep shot. Twice on 3rd and short hands the ball to Thompson. Are you kidding me? How is he supposed to break tackles.

He doesn't attack the defense. We had a good running game today and did play action deep. I think everyone is shocked how well we ran today. It should of opened up more for the passing game. OF course penalties killed us. The dropped pick 6 was huge. Plus Kai with another huge miss.

Once Jackson was out, who we going to deep? And why? Our plays were working, if we didn't have a penalty meltdown in the second half. Play calling wasn't the issue, execution was. And the ST td was the killer....again.

Anyone that follows this team should not be shocked we ran well. First, we have always been proficient at running. Second, Miami sucks against the run. Not sure why you are confused.

I entertain the thought because i have seen reports of fans of the player, or fans against the team name proclaim that they hope the team fails horribly in order to be justified in the concept that the team treated wonder boy unfairly. So I was simply asking, are you one of those that would rather see the team fail at this juncture in order to be able to say it was the team. Not the QB.

Miami has a great front four. No one was predicting Morris to go over 100yards. Crowder has speed he could of went deep or Garcon. The two 3rd down call runs to Thompson were horrible. killed two drives in good field position. Gruden did not trust Kirk today. Play calling was a big issue. Miami has a good front 4 against the pass. They were 26th last year against the run. Adding suh will make them better, but not enough to make them a top 20. As I tried to tell you before, if you wanted to neutralize suh and wake, run the ball. Also as I predicted, if KC throws 28 times or more, we lose.

Now,we should have won, if we could catch an int or find anyone that can tackle a ST returner.

Oh, I also didn't care for the Thompson play calls, but those are 2 plays over the course of 70. Keep it in proportion.

Losing Nacho and DJax sucks.

Really happy with Oline play - thought Scherff and Moses did better than I expected.

Overall, sucks losing but happy with a lot of what I saw today.

So if we had over 350 yds of offense, we moved the ball, right? Factor in the yds lost on stupid penalties, we are over 400 yds. Play calling couldn't have been that bad.

Nope!! There is no point to be made IMHO by doing that.. always want a win, they are just so few and far between. Actually I have said from day one it was a mistake. All this game proves is that yes in fact it was a mistake to trade for Griffin. Am I happy with the lose?? Not at all. But will i say i told you so?? Yep, fuck yea I told you so.
