oops my bad then
I wouldn't go getting my panties in a wad over Urban Meyer. He will field some good teams but he will have down years too. Look at Florida 2010.
Really we see what he did in two mid to lower tier conferences and what he did with Tebow. I am not saying he is not a great coach, just that the sky isn't falling.
We will get our share of recruits out of Ohio just like we did with Texas.
This ended up going in the direction that I was hoping it wouldn't.
I wasn't trying to compare Ohio State to Oklahoma/Texas really............I was trying to say, who is going to be the team in our conference that we treat like we did Oklahoma/Texas in the Big 12.
Ohio State will be a completely different team.........no 2 teams are the same. But no matter what conference we're in..............we're always gonna have that couple of teams that we struggle with. I just think it will be Ohio State for obvious reasons, and I also think we'll struggle with Michigan even when we feel like we are the better team (much like what happened with Texas).
LOL @ thinking the Minnesota game may have been an anomaly. That is the worst division 1 team I saw play on a regular basis all year. I don't see beating tOSU and Penn St. as struggling with them, but we could certainly begin to with tOSU. Penn St. will be in the gutter for at least a decade.
Wisconsin loses their whole team in Russell Wilson, and Michigan only returns 12 total starters so who knows what they're going to be like next year.
Nebraska loses Dennard and Lavonte..........that's basically all you have to look at beings that Crick had zero impact on this team this season.
If our 8 returning starters on defense (plus several others who saw a ton of playing time) can make up for the loss of those 2 guys, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to compete for the BIG Championship next season.
The entire offense returns...........entire special teams..........there are no excuses. If we lose a game, it will be because we weren't ready to go that week.
Ohio State, Nebraska and Wisconsin will be on top of the league for years to come
Penn State is tough to tell at this point they're a mess at the moment
Illinois is the potential sleeper of the conference, they have a good coach now. Only problem for that is he isn't getting a lot of the assistants he wanted from Toledo because Toledo acted quickly and promoted their offensive coordinator to head coach.
Michigan might fade, hopefully we don't need their bandwagon fans around
Michigan State hasn't actually gone away either, this next year will be a big test for them.
Northwestern has managed to at least be decent
