Could be just me but I see a lot of similarities between the 2.

As players? Pretty different actually, Jokic is more like Arvydas Sabonis to me. He's a center, Dirk was not that. Dirk more of a scorer, less of a passer and rebounder.

Jokic is a better passer and rebounder. He could end up being better, as crazy as that sounds.

Well, they are both tall, highly skilled and European. There is that.

Games aren't really that similar at all though.

Both are solid players but I've really never seen any similarities between the 2.

Looks like it just me, there’s just something about Jokic when I’m watching him that reminds me of Dirk.

I really don’t see it, Jokic has more of an inside game but Dirk is Dirk, no 5 scorer in NBA history. That’s a tall order.

No way in heck Jokic passes him in points, Dirk was an all time pure scorer. But the question is if Jokic has a long career for being a triple double threat from the center position, and wins a couple titles, is he higher on the all time list?

Jokic can't be far off the pace in points thru 4 seasons/age 23.

He's already topped Dirk in career highs in rebounds and assists. And steals. And FG%. Not that far back in 3pt%.

His game is already more complete. Not sure if he'll linger into his 40's though.

Nope.
Not even close. (at least not yet, if ever)

Talk to me when he loses about 25 lbs, grows his hair, starts wearing a headband, wins an MVP and a championship while he's running the floor like a PG...not to mention being a 14 time All Star.

Only 1 Dirk.

*Nowitzki is the only player to record at least 31,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 3,000 assists, 1,000 steals, 1,000 blocks and 1,000 three-point field goals in his career.

If Dirk was fat maybe. lol

:heh: Jokic doesn't look athletic at all. He has no body definition and looks soft, but man is he a great player. I'm amazed he has the stamina he does looking like that.

Yeah pretty much what you said. He isn't too far off through 4 seasons (only 300 behind Dirk) but Jokic is such a willing passer it will be hard to think he can match Dirk scoring wise or close to it, that would just be insane production. Dirk averaged pretty much 25 ppg for 8 seasons. Jokic is so much better of a passer and overall a better rebounder though. I think overall he can be one of the greatest, I wouldn't compare him to Dirk yet bc he was so unstoppable in his prime. Jokic definitely has a polished overall game though and isn't the greatest defender but still better than Dirk.

He doesn't remind me of Dirk at all... He is very similar to Vucevic but with even better ability to "reed the game" and assist the ball...
