I think he made a big mistake. Bill has had the foresight to get rid of players at the right time. I think he made a mistake when he gave up Garappolo because of his loyalty to Brady.

I'm not sure hold old you are but back in the early 90's SF had Joe Montana and Steve Young. Joe still had a few good years in him which he showed in Kansas City but the 49ers got rid of him because the future waas with Steve Young who also ended up being pretty good, lol. Joe was that franchise at the time. I think maybe a few years from now the Pats may wish they'd been more like the 49ers in that time. What was his other option, carry ≈50 million on the cap next season for two QB's?

The only thing the Dark Lord may regret is not getting enough for him. He'll make a brilliant draft of a QB everyone else will overlook who will be willing to wait a couple more years until Brady is done. Garappolo was ready now and not willing to wait a couple of years.I think he made a big mistake. Bill has had the foresight to get rid of players at the right time. The salary cap was not the same back then. In addition, TB just came off of a SB win.I'm not sure hold old you are but back in the early 90's SF had Joe Montana and Steve Young. lets not forget young played for 2 years while joe was hurt and joe requested to be tradedThe salary cap was not the same back then. In addition, TB just came off of a SB win.
You can’t even compare the two situations because the former could never happen in today’s NFL.
Hindsight is always 20-20.
Every contract decision is a gamble.
Most Patriots fans really like Garappolo - Belichick did/does too.
Decisions have to be made. Waiting as long as the Pats did had a cost. An expected cost.
If Garappolo had been traded to the Browns a year earlier, do you think he would have won 5 straight?

Probably not 5 straight, but they'd win a game or two.

Given what he's done with Goodwin, I think he'd flat out love Josh Gordon.
If Brady plays a full 2018 and Jimmy does too, I'll wager that Brady beats him in every category. 5td/3itn in SF don't stand out as a red flag yet, I doubt even if Bill wanted to get rid of Brady, Kraft would veto that pretty quick
