Braves OF Hector Olivera suspended 82 games

July 30, 2015: Traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Los Angeles Dodgers with Zachary Bird (minors) and Paco Rodriguez to the Atlanta Braves. The Atlanta Braves sent Bronson Arroyo, Luis Avilan, Jim Johnson, Jose Peraza and Alex Wood to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Los Angeles Dodgers sent Victor Araujo (minors), Jeff Brigham (minors) and Kevin Guzman (minors) to the Miami Marlins. The Miami Marlins sent Mat Latos and Mike Morse to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Miami Marlins sent 2016 competitive balance round A pick to the Atlanta Braves.

Seems like all teams shuffled bad contracts and useless players. The braves now dont have to pay for a half-season of Olivera.

The Dogs are still paying Morse and Latos(??).

I believe that the Dodgers are done paying Latos and will be done paying Morse after this year. Oliviera on the other hand has 4 more seasons on his $10+ million a year deal after this one, taking him past his 35th birthday. It's not over yet, but as of right now I'd have much rather been on the Dodgers' side of that trade I think.

Dodgers still have Avilan, Wood, and got some international signing bonus money. They also turned Jose Peraza into Frankie Montas, Trayce Thompson, and Micah Johnson. Peraza was the Braves top prospect (useless player? or bad contract?) - the Reds gave up Todd Frazier for him.

Also, apparently several years of team control of a young starting pitcher (Wood) is a bad contract and/or useless player. Cool. No bias from you. LOL
