The Cuban INF signs with the enemy and it's game on for 2014. Let's go Sabean , Colletti has fired the first shot for next year. More money added to the Dodgers payroll. Looks like Ellis may be out in L.A.

Most of the reports I have read about Guerrero is that he is nothing super special. He has a ceiling of a starting MLB 2B, but that he may need a year or so of grooming before he can take an MLB job.

I am not too scared about this one.

Interesting .... as I was looking for his stats I also saw a one or two other sites quoting a salary of
28M/4 years. I also didn't see anything that would make him an immediate star but in the overall picture ... I think he's an upgrade over Ellis and Shumaker ... his youth alone is a plus for them.

I think this will be the Doyer approach for years to come. They are pretty well constructed at the moment .... all they really need to do is change out the parts that are wearing down on a year by year basis. Makes this an easy task if you have unlimited funds ....

4 years/$28M (2014-17)
signed Major League contract with LA Dodgers as a free agent from Cuba (via Haiti) 10/21/13
$10M signing bonus
may earn additional $4M in performance bonuses based on plate appearances
may not be optioned to minors without permission after 2014
may become Article XX(B) free agent after 2017 season
