My answer is 'No'. He's only had one game off so far this season. That's almost unheard of for a catcher. Even if some of his games played (14) are as a DH, he is still on pace to catch 127 games this year. I'd just as soon not only see him skip the homerun derby (assuming he gets an invite which at this point seems inevitable) but skip the all star game too. Give him four days to rest those knees. Amirite?

Yes. This team and organization fucking suck.

Let Cal get memories that will last a lifetime. He's not going to get any in the postseason this year.

I say yes. But I’m also of the opinion it’s just time to bring Ford up and give him 2/3 games a week behind the plate and have Cal DH. For a team that cares about money so much it seems to counter intuitive that you give him the extension but still run him into the ground.

With the home run derby, it’s not like it’s going to affect his swing. But if he takes the rest like you say I wouldn’t be opposed.

Well not if you’re going to have that attitude. They need you on the positive train.

Plus, it’s not like you have Husky football to look forward to

Hell NO!

Julio still hasn't recovered.
My exact thinking. Julio was on fire till he hurt his wrist at the Derby and never got that mojo back that season. Last year and this season it's all mental issues.
