CBS is in bed with the NFL (which is rigged), so of course they have an agenda.

Can you imagine how pissed the networks and NFL would have been if KC, Cincy, and Minnessota all would have advanced? You know they were going to do their damnedest to make sure that wasn't happening.

Targeting only applies to defenseless players.

A player with the ball is not a defenseless player, unless it's a QB who is in the pocket.

At first I thought it should have been called, but the whole defenseless player bit is actually correct.

Defenseless has nothing to do with it. It's not even mentioned in the rule. That was the NFL and CBS trying to cover their ass on what was clearly a botched call.

ARTICLE 8. INITIATING CONTACT WITH THE CROWN OF THE HELMET.It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team’s end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or tackler against an opponent shall not be a foul.

Good find Hokie, which is exactly what I was saying. HE LED with the crown of his helmet and hit Bernard in the freaking face, and it wasn't just a I caught you hit, it was a launch myself, I am going to take you out hit with the crown of the helmet to his face.

I care the Bengals lost, but if the game was called more evenly, especially on that call, I bet less ridiculousness occurs after where Burfict and Jones go ape shit. If the Bengals lose in a well called game, well so be it. They were not good enough.

However, to have that of not been called and then to turn around and penalize us at the most critical part of the game for the same shit, hypocritical and unfair. Call the game fair, and while we will still be pissed we lost, we will have understood it and not been up in arms.

Not only did the fucking hit from Shazier not draw a penalty, which also gave the Steelers a turnover while we were in FG range, but the celebration of nearly killing Bernard was never penalized either. After Burfict hit Brown, Burfict at least went over to check on him to make sure he was gonna be okay and put his hand on his shoulder before a freaking Pittsburgh coach AGAIN got involved and slapped Burfict away. Granted, I understand that as I would be a little protective of Brown as a trainer at that point. But Shazier didn't go see if Bernard was okay, but instead was over celebrating with teammates after nearly killing Bernard.

Then you got Porter mouthing off and starting shit with the Bengal players, Jones was up in his face, a Steeler grabbed Jones to back him off as Porter has that shit eating grin on his face, and Jones goes to swat the Steeler hand off his arm and accidentally hits the ref, another 15 yarder from a Bengal trying to get a Steelers hands off him because a Steeler coach was instigating shit on the field of play with the other team to get them more riled up.

I understand the penalty on Burfict. I will not deny that he needed penalized, but the punishment didn't go both ways. That whole series of events was orchestrated perfectly for Pittsburgh to ensure Boswell had a chip shot.

Kramer is right. These fucking games are rigged, otherwise they are at the very minimum stacked against certain teams until they can prove they can not only overcome the opposing team, but the refs as well to make their way into that elite company and then they will start getting those ridiculous calls that no one should be getting.

I don't know about the NFL rule to be honest, but I know in college football the defenseless part is important.

I would have thought it was the same in the NFL, because that's how a RB can lower his head etc. Everyone would get run over if they couldn't lower their head on them.

Wrong regarding college as well.

Bosa got ejected from the game versus Notre Dame for targeting on the QB. QB was outside the pocket, was scrambling...Bosa didn't launch himself or lay serious wood on the QB, he did get his helmet to the QB chest before he was able to use his arms and shove the QB to the ground.

If what Bosa did was targeting, then everything you are saying is completely wrong. Yes, I know it was a QB, but he was outside the pocket, he was on the run, and Bosa never left his feet or used his head to tackle the QB. He just lowered his head and made slight contact before shoving the QB.

What Shazier did was dirty as hell, he knows it, hell everyone knows it, but the cover up is underway because the league can't have another black flag scandal during the midst of the playoffs. There are the propaganda nuts in full force trying to spin a certain twist, and all the focus is on Burfict as they try to say how dirty the Bengals were, etc.

However, none of the Bengals started this mess as it was a coach who yanked Nelsons dreads on the sidelines for his hit. Then a piece of shit Steeler goes, hits our guy in the face with the top of his helmet, and then the worst part, shows no remorse, but rather flaunts it and celebrates with teammates that he nearly killed our player. Burfict later retaliates like an idiot, but then Pittsburgh has a coach in the middle of the field talking trash and cursing at our players, when he is not even allowed on the field, causing Jones to get penalized for trying to slap a Steelers hands off him and gets unlucky and hits the ref trying to disengage.

People in the media can say whatever they want, that entire series of events was started by Pittsburgh, just that Cincinnati got punished for it. So Pittsburgh won that game, but not without a decent amount of help from the refs. Say what you will, we know the truth. I hope Denver beats the shit out of Pittsburgh.

I agree with everything but that last sentence. :)

if you mess with burfict, then you win the game.

coaches need to know when to get him out of the game.

That is because you are a class act. You are willing to see the truth as it was.

Pittsburgh won the game, no doubt about that, but it wasn't without assistance. We had plenty of chances to win it before all that mess occurred, that was our own fault. However, that entire series of crap could have been handled better by the refs and now with Burfict's history, he is singled out. Granted, I understand that too. Just sucks that on the flip side, the crime doesn't meet the punishment.

Why? Because an interview with a player saying they will be targeting someone is the same thing as a local radio station making a claim that there is a bounty out on someone?

Actually, I'm not even talking about the bounty thing on Gilberry.
I was referring to the guy who made a death threat to Burfict, or Mike Mitchell saying after the first game that he was going to take out Marvin Jones' knees in the next game.

Look, the Bengals lost, we know how and why they lost. We know players got caught up in things they should have easily avoided in a game like this.

however, any pitt fans coming around talking about dirty plays or targeting, or bounties should look directly in the mirror and just stop. Pitt got a vast taste of its own medicine, and while the Bengals did lose, the Steelers trying to play the victim card here is extremely laughable.

Just stop.
