I read the PensBlog twice and never went back because this article is pretty typical of their stuff - filled with zings that don't connect and without a real point of view.

The only thing I take exception to are the jabs at Ted Leonsis. That man has been a great owner on every front - building a better team, growing the hockey fan base in DC, being accessible and earnest with those fans, and making a phenomenal game day experience for them. He's a model sports owner and probably one of the 10 best in all of professional sports.

We'll get there someday... and hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

I don't want to make excuses for our team, but we have a crop of really talented rookies who a lot fell on this year - Carlson, MoJo, Alzner, and Neuvirth. If they can weed out some of players like Semin who don't have the right attitude and give those guys another year or two to develop, we're still a very strong team.

It hurts right now, but we aren't going anywhere either. We're a damn good team and we just have to figure out that last piece of it to push to greatness. That day will come.

The point of those eulogies are to be mean. Honestly, the Pensblog one wasn't very cheap at all. They take jabs at guys...but come on, saucy face/haagen daaz was done to himself...and you gotta admit uncle Ted has had a few comments that are just whiny. But I think all owners would if they had their own blog, he's just one of the few willing to have one.
