i like how babcock thinks about these series. it's a race to 4. lightning don't have 4 wins yet. series is not over. but they clearly need to figure out this 1-3-1 because it's killing any flow they can generate in their offense.
is backstrom hurt? his lack of offensive production and disappearance in big moments is seriously out of character.
semin is once again becoming a scapegoat. i don't think he's playing great, but he's not playing that badly either.

It's going to take a lot of mojo.
i actually think some of the caps problem is ovechkin.. i know he's been producing, but how can he not? if he gets the puck outside the zone, every single time he's going to skate it in.. he's either going to half drag and shoot between the defenders legs, or try a full drag to go around the d-man.. and it's always on the left side of the ice.. the top line is 100% predictable.. and even when he gets a shot off, most of the time it's stopped, and most of the time it's one and done.. i've watched most of the caps games this playoffs and to be honest i dont think he's scored coming down the left side yet.. most of his goals have been in front of the net digging and hoping
why not take the puck out of OV's hands when entering the zone? why not have backstrom try to skate it in, pull up, and use his vision?
am i way off base or do caps fans see/think this sometimes too? i just feel like when i'm watching the caps i'm watching the same 40 second clip on repeat.. and on the PP, holy stagnation batman.. that 5 on 3 last night was the easiest 5on3 to defend i've ever seen until the finally moved and then surprise surprise they scored.. the puck is moving, but it's moving between 5 trees out there
