Do either of them really have a future here?

If so in what capacity? Can the team really afford to keep either? They are:

1. Deangelo Hall

2. Darrel Young

Mitziman

i know you don't like to hear the truth, but...

Is there another FB on the Redskins roster to take DY's place? I could see D Hall being let go, but I think Young's job is safe for now.

Hall will be making next to nothing & can be released at any time w/o penalty. I really don't see the harm in keeping him on the roster as nickle back, etc. You might argue that he is taking up someone's spot. If all of the younger players shine - sure - you might let him go. However - that probably won't be the case & it won't hurt to have a little more veteran leadership & mentoring in this area.

I realize that Hall had a reputation in the past, but his attitude has been stellar in recent seasons. I have no issue if they go in either direction which will probably depend on the performance of Hall & others in camp.

Young is safe... With the new power scheme they plan to run, a good FB is a necissity and Young fills that bill....

As for Hall, If he is realeased it is becasue.. A. he isnt the same after the injury, so it is what it is or B. The young guys they drafted are better then him, in which case...Good for the young guys

I do believe however, that come opening day both will be on the roster and it wouldn't suprise me 1 bit if Dhall is the starting outside QB....He has well since coming to DC...Him and Culliver would be a great tandem (assumingHall is the same as he was pre injury) and Breeland over the slot is a good group

the cap would get a big savings if hall is let go but you cant do that until you know about breeland and amerson

I'm not so sure guys, D.Hall IMO has a very steep hill to climb in order to make the roster. We all know and appreciate his contributions in previous years even his ability to stay away from the controversial has been nice, but here are a few reasons why he's got to score a knockout during camp.

1. He going to be 32 in November, pitted against an evident youth movement, the team will be hard pressed to retain a player with zero upside in favor of a younger player with more seasons ahead than Hall has.

2. Double AT surgeries means that reliability, speed and durability are huge questions.

3. Where does he fit in? A big question if you consider Culliver and Breeland odds on favorites to win the starting corner slots. He's been tried before in the slot, that experiment ended very quickly.

4. Will/can he excel at safety where there is a need be he is unproven there as well.

In as much as DY is concerned........Can this team afford to keep him and his limited capacity beyond fullback? Keep in mind that Gruden's offense doesn't employ a fullback and there's a new ST coordinator in town, so there's an equal chance that he gets no play there either. While we'd all like to see him in our colors again, there's a real chance that if he stays he'll share time with M. Jones or Gruden's preference a TE.
